  Tempus kidnaps Lois and takes her to another dimension where there is no Superman to help her. Well, since there isn't a Superman, I guess she'll just have to make one. Luckily for her, even though Superman doesn't exist in the univere, there is a Clark hide show

  The first thought I had when I the episode started was, "Oh no, is Tempus back to erase Lois' memory again?" The entire season of Lois knowing Clark is Superman would go down the drain. Luckily, I was wrong and it became one of the best episodes of the season. What I liked about this episode is that, even though it wasn't based on it, it kind of reminded me of the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" Superman comics. Both that and this episode talk about alternate universes. Lois gets to meet another Superman from another universe where things are different and this alternate Superman falls for Lois. It is a real touching episode that really impressed me and didn't let me down at the end.

  World Without Superman hide show

  This alternate world story isn't exactly anything new since it's been done a couple of times in the Superman visual medium. The episode Brave New Metropolis from Superman: The Animated Series and a two part cliffhanger in Superboy. This story is both dark and romantic. We see the alternate Metropolis as a crime ridden cesspool, everyone has became a shadow of their idealistic selves,
  Lois in that world is out of the picture, Tempus not just has his grip on the city but is also running for the presidency, but worst of all Superman is no where where you need him. Clark is still a good person as usual and does help people but barely enough because he's a little more repressed and passive. Some of this due to the fact that he is in love (or at least thinks he is) and engaged to a woman that is obviously wrong for him. And for the first time in the show we see Lana (a character from the Superman universe) she beautiful, sweet, but a bit dominering.
  
  Once again both Clark and Lois have great chemestry from the conversations they have and what happens, it shows why Lois is the right woman for Clark; and why the world always needs a Superman and Lois Lane around.
