Appointment with Danger is a 1951 American crime noir film, written by Richard L. Breen and Warren Duff, directed by Lewis Allen. The film follows US Postal Inspection Service detective Al Goddard (Alan Ladd) as he tries to solve the murder of a fellow Postal Service detective in Gary, Indiana. Looking for two men thought to be involved in the crime, he seeks out shy, young nun Sister Augustine (Phyllis Calvert), the only witness to the act. With her reluctant assistance, Goddard goes undercover to discover the perpetrators. In doing so, he stumbles upon the million dollar mail heist they are planning. The criminals, Earl Boettiger (Paul Stewart), Joe Revas (Jack Webb) and gun-toting moll Dodie Lan Verne (Jan Sterling), soon discover Goddard's deception and he and Sister Augustine must fight to save their lives and bring the murderous criminals to justice.
