  • Clue, which is based on the eponymous Parker Brothers board game, is a 1985 comedy/mystery directed by Jonathan Lynn. On a dark, stormy night, six strangers, Mrs. Peacock (Eileen Brennan), Miss Scarlet (Lesley Ann Warren), Mr. Green (Michael McKean), Professor Plum (Christopher Lloyd), Mrs. White (Madeline Kahn) and Colonel Mustard (Martin Mull), gather for a dinner party in a Gothic mansion. They are greeted by the butler, Wadsworth (Tim Curry), who tells them that they are all being blackmailed by Mr. Boddy (Lee Ving), whom he has also invited. Wadsworth then reveals the real reason that he has brought them there -- to let them kill Mr. Boddy and destroy his evidence. After Wadsworth gives them all weapons, somebody does murder Mr. Boddy, but nobody will confess to the crime. As other guests in the mansion are also slain, suspicion rises amongst the guests, who try to figure out which member of their party is the real killer. When all the clues are collected, cunning Wadsworth tells three different versions of how the murders happened, but only one of them is the truth.moreless
