Disappearances is a 2006 action adventure film written and directed by Jay Craven, adapting the Howard Frank Mosher novel of the same name. Quebec Bill Bohomme (Kris Kristofferson) is a Vermont farmer during the age of prohibition forced to return to his old criminal ways after a freak lightening mishap burns down his barn and leaves his family desperate in the face of the coming winter. Despite mystical warnings imparted by his sister Cordilia (Genevi''ve Bujold), Quebec Bill plans a daring plan to steal cases of whiskey from smugglers from across the Canadian border. Accompanied by his 15-year old son Wild Bill (Charlie McDermott), his friends and farmhands Rat Kinneson (William Sanderson) and Henry Coville (Gary Farmer), the men set upon a treacherous journey through the lands between Vermont and Canada.
