Ed Gein: The Butcher of Plainfield is based on the true story of Ed Gein (played by Kane Hodder), a serial killer in the late 1950's from rural Wisconsin who skinned, dissected, and disemboweled his victims. He was known as one of the most gruesome killers in US history. Ed Gein is the inspiration behind movies such as "Psycho", "Silence of the Lambs", and "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre". He had a traumatizing childhood because of his greatly religious mother. The story revolves around the kidnapping of a sheriff's deputy's girlfriend, which never happened in the real story, and the events leading up to the grim discovery of the killer's collection of corpses. This movie also stars Adrienne Frantz, Michael Berryman, Priscilla Barnes and Shawn Hoffman. Ed Gein was directed by Michael Feifer, produced by Barry Barnholtz, and written by Michael Feifer. It was distributed by Feifer Worldwide. Rated R for strong violence and disturbing graphic images.moreless
