  • movie Description
  • Grumpy Old Men is a 1993 comedy starring Jack Lemmon (Some Like it Hot, The Out-of-Towners) and Walter Matthau (The Odd Couple, The Bad News Bears). The film follows a pair of elderly bachelors who happen to be neighbors and life long friends turned enemies. Their friendship seems to be based on constant arguing and rivalry. Their constant competition with one another is taken up a notch when a when beautiful single woman, Ariel (Ann-Margret), moves across the street from the both of them. As an artist, she's full of love and instantly falls for John (Lemmon). But after the two have a horrible fight she decides that maybe Max (Matthau) is actually the better fit. The grumpy jealousy between the two is taken to an all time high. They partake in games of deception with one another in hopes to prove to Ariel that the other man is a complete buffoon. The witty dialogue and hilarious performances made this film an instant success and comedy classic.moreless
