  • High Society, a 1956 musical-comedy remake of The Philadelphia Story, features Grace Kelly's final appearance on the silver screen before she became Princess of Monaco. Tracy Lord (Grace Kelly) is a wealthy New England socialite divorced from jazz musician C.K. Dexter Haven (Bing Crosby) and about to marry George Kittredge (John Lund). Chaos strikes on the eve of the wedding when a nosy Spy Magazine reporter, Mike Connor (Frank Sinatra), arrives to dig up dirt on Tracy's father. Mike and Tracy develop an attraction to each other as they trade witty barbs. Complicating her life even further, Tracy's ex-husband C.K. determines to win back his bride. As Tracy's wedding day approaches, she must choose a husband from her three suitors. Grace Kelly makes her singing debut, performing numbers with Crosby and Sinatra. The score features songs written by Cole Porter and Sinatra, and Louis Armstrong and his band make a special appearance.moreless
