  • Jesus Camp is a 2006 documentary that explores the evangelical Christian movement from a child's perspective. The film presents the "Kids on Fire" summer camp run by pastor Becky Fisher, who uses video games, cartoons and group activities to show the children how to "take back America for Christ." Directors Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady demonstrate how the kids are indoctrinated into merging the religious and the political as when they pray for President Bush and the Supreme Court along with Fisher and her fellow counselors. The film then focuses on three young Christian campers. 12-year-old Levi already delivers charismatic sermons; 10-year old Tory, a pretty blonde only wants to exalt the Lord; and nine-year old Rachael already tries to convert strangers on the street. The filmmakers contrast the training and techniques of the this Pentecostal North Dakota camp with talk show host, Mike Papantonio, a Christian who expresses concern at the methods.moreless
