  • Rachel Phelps hit the jackpot when she married the wealthy owner of the Cleveland Indians. When her new husband doesn't survive the honeymoon, she inherits the MLB franchise. Her plans don't include staying in Cleveland, though, and the ex-showgirl immediately makes plans to move the team to Miami. Since Cleveland won't let her out of her contract as long as attendance remains above 800,000, Rachel comes up with a devious plan. She'll hire the worst team in the history of baseball to drive attendance down. Her dream team includes ex-con pitcher Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughan, washed-up womanizer Jake Taylor, voodoo devotee Pedro Cerrano, prima-donna free agent Roger Dorn, and Willie "Mays" Hayes, who can run like the wind, but can't hit. Her plan seems to be working when the team performs miserably, but things go downhill when the players learn her intentions. Can the ragtag team pull together and win the hearts of the fans before it's too late for the Indians?moreless
