National Lampoon's Animal House is a film from 1978, directed by John Landis, about the college fraternity experience, starring Jim Belushi as John "Bluto" Blutarsky. The film also features Tom Hulce, Kevin Bacon, and Karen Allen early in their careers. Hulce appears as Lawrence â€˜Pintoâ€™ Kroger, a new student looking to join a fraternity with his friend Kent â€˜Flounderâ€™ Dorfman (Stephen Furst). While rejected from the first house they try, the approach the ill-reputed Delta Tai Chi house where Kenâ€™t brother was a member. They are accepted as pledges, only to find that their new house is under fire from the Dean for numerous violations, and the administration is trying to remove the fraternity entirely. The dean enlists the help of rival fraternity Omega Theta Pi and its president, Greg Marmaland (James Daughton). After a series of pranks, bullying, food fights, and an elaborate scheme to bring the Deltaâ€™s house GPA even lower than before, the Deltas are still unfazed enough to organize a toga party. During the party their charter is revoked, and some of the brothers leave on an adventure to get their minds off it. Things only get worse, but Bluto inspires his fraternity with a passionate speech, and if the Deltas are going down, they arenâ€™t doing it without a fight!moreless
