  • O Brother, Where Art Thou? is another wacky ride from the irascible team of the Coen Brothers (Fargo, The Big Lebowski, No Country For Old Men, Miller's Crossing, Barton Fink, Blood Simple). Loosely based on Homer's The Odyssey, the film follows a trio of Depression era chain gang workers by the names of Everett (George Clooney, From Dusk Til Dawn, Ocean's Eleven, Syriana, Three Kings), Pete (John Turturro, Barton Fink, Transformers) and Delmar (Tim Blake Nelson, The Incredible Hulk, Minority Report) who bust loose to pursue a vast treasure hidden in a locale scheduled to be flooded in several days. Along the way, they encounter various oddball characters and situations that harkens to the encounters in Homer's classic work: three 'sirens' who love them up and turn one of their number into a horny toad, a one-eyed 'Cyclops' of a bible salesman ' John Goodman (Roseanne, Sea of Love, The Babe) and many others on a wild and surreal ride.moreless
