  • The Men is a 1950 drama film that focuses on the tribulations of a young soldier. Ken (Marlon Brando) is a lieutenant fighting in a war-ridden town in Europe. When he steps out into an open square, shots are fired and Ken is hit in his back, causing him to become a permanent paraplegic. While in the hospital, Ken feels sorry for himself, even becoming resentful. When other paraplegics, including Leo (Richard Erdman) and Morn (Jack Webb) try to get Ken to join in on their activities, such as playing cards, he turns them down. He even tells his fianc''e Ellen (Teresa Wright) to move on and find someone else. However, Ellen refuses to give up on him, sticking by his side as he tries to adjust to his new lifestyle. An accident occurs, and Ken begins to see things from a different perspective. Will Ken ever be able to accept his fate? Watch The Men to find out.moreless
