  • The President's Analyst is a 1967 comedy directed by Theodore Flicker. Psychiatrist Dr. Sidney Schaefer (James Coburn), has been chosen by the United States government to act as the president's psychoanalyst. Schaefer has two rules, he must be available to the president at all hours and he can not discuss any of the president's problems. When the stress from his job gets to him, Shaefer becomes paranoid, even thinking his girlfriend is spying on him. Shaefer finds himself in a variety of dangerous and odd situations as a hilarious cast of characters attempt to save and apprehend him. He eventually finds himself caught up in a The Phone Company's plan to assign everyone a number instead of a name. The company wants Shaefer to blackmail the president and force him into passing their legislation, making plan mandatory to all citizens. Shaefer must try to escape The Phone Company's capture before it's too late.moreless
