  • UHF is a satirical comedy starring Weird Al Yankovic as a daydreamer who suddenly finds himself in charge of a local television station. George Newman (Weird Al Yankovic) and his best friend Bob (David Bowe) can never hold on to their jobs for long. The problem, according to George, is that nobody appreciates a guy with a good imagination. When his gambling uncle, Harvey (Stanley Brock), wins the deed to UHF channel 62, George finds himself in control of the nearly bankrupt station. After firing the executives, George is left with a team of misfits: receptionist Pamela Finklestein (Fran Drescher), dwarf cameraman Noodles MacIntosh (Billy Barty), chief engineer Philo (Anthony Geary) and janitor Stanley Spadowski (Michael Richards). Making up the program schedule at whim, George puts Stanley in charge of "Uncle Nutzy's Clubhouse" and the show is a surprise hit. The station's rising popularity infuriates R.J. Fletcher (Kevin McCarthy), CEO of a big affiliate station, and the rivalry escalates to a wacky ratings war.moreless
