  • Wuthering Heights is the 1970 adaptation of the classic novel by Emily Bronte, this time out brought to the screen by legendary horror director Robert Fuest (The Abominable Dr. Phibes, Dr. Phibes Rises Again, The Devil's Rain, The Last Days of Man on Earth). A man (who already has a son and daughter named Catherine and Hareton) adopts a boy and calls him Heathcliff. Heathcliff (Timothy Dalton, The Living Daylights, License to Kill, The Rocketeer, Hot Fuzz) and Catherine (Anna Calder-Marshall, King Lear, Anna Karenina, Pussycat, Pussycat, I Love You) eventually fall in love, but the father dies, and Hareton forces Heathcliff to work in the stables and become a servant. Catherine, who still loves Heathcliff, feels Heathcliff is 'below her' and marries Edgar Linton (Ian Ogilvy, Waterloo, My Life in Ruins, Death Becomes Her), who is wealthy. Heathcliff, who becomes extremely angry, decides to get revenge.moreless
