What Are Your 10 Favorite Shows of 2014 (So Far)?

By Tim Surette

It's June! And that means it's time to start thinking about the best shows of the year. (Heck, I'm already thinking about the best shows of 2056—NCIS: Jupiter is actually quite good!)

Earlier this week, Time's James Poniewozik kicked off the discussion with a list of his 10 favorite shows from 2014 (so far), and we've decided to play along by answering his question of "What are yours?" and extending the same query to you.

To get things going, Jen and I have compiled quick lists of our 10 favorite shows of the first half of 2014. (Kaitlin is currently on assignment doing extensive research on what Taylor Kitsch smells like in real life at the ATX Television festival, but if she manages to somehow avoid Death by Riggins... yes, that is definitely a thing... we might eventually add her list, too.)

There weren't too many rules, though I limited my entries to shows that started their current seasons in 2014; Jen took a broader approach and considered anything that's aired this year, in full or in part. Share your own list in the comments!

It had been a busy 2014 so there is only one show I have watched all episodes of this year and it is Fargo.
Started a few other shows, but lost interest fairly quickly.

I am desperately missing some good sci-fi that includes actual spaceships.

  • CharlotteTrom Jun 18, 2014

Have you tried 'The 100'? It's on the CW but is getting great reviews (check them out on here), has been renewed for a second season ... and has spaceships (well, a space -ark thingie!)

  • Isabella79 Jun 20, 2014

Thanks for the suggestion, I will put it on my list. However considering how behind I am (I still have to finish Fringe, that´s how bad it is..) it may take a while before I check it out.
