ABC Just About Cancels Don't Trust the B----, But Won't Admit It Yet

Holy s--- ABC said "F--- you" to the B---- today, pulling comedy Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 from its schedule effective immediately, according to The Hollywood Reporter. You won't see the changes until next week, as the network's regular Tuesday comedy block of Don't Trust the B---- and Happy Endings has tonight off so ABC can air some dumb two-hour cooking show and the series finale of Private Practice.

But starting on Tuesdays next week, get ready to see back-to-back new episodes of Happy Endings between 9pm and 10pm. ABC has not made a decision on when or where to air the remaining eight episodes of Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23, but unless something changes, look for a summer burn-off followed by a veiled cancellation notice as ABC sweeps the show under the rug and mumbles something about "still making a decision" on the show's future. ABC, you really should come to terms with that fact that you are in the TV business and part of that business involves canceling shows. Acceptance is the first step to recovery.

ABC has been wishy-washy with its treatment of Don't Trust the B----, introducing it as a midseason show in early 2012 and pulling it before it could finish its first season. A second season was ordered with the remaining episodes from Season 1 included, but Season 2 was scheduled to air opposite other more established comedies, after the other shows had already dug their heels into the turf. And this month, it aired twice a week for a while, with a second episode taking over the crater left by 666 Park Avenue on Sunday nights. In other words, ABC had no idea what to do with Don't Trust the B---- and this news comes as no surprise.

As for Happy Endings, it's still chugging along and dodging the axe, with its better ratings keeping it alive. But the future does not look good for the comedy, and if were you, I'd prepare myself for a very sad ending.

This show is awesome! It's funny, suspenseful, & witty. I love it! Especially the B****! Bring back the show!

I knew this show wouldn't last. WAAAAYYY too smart for mainstream American audiences.

Too bad this show is gone. It was a great snarky counterpoint to the "obsessively cute and awkward shows" that unfortunately have exploded all over tv in the last year. Not to mention that it had the criminally underrated James Van Der Beek. (See his comedic work in "The Rules of Attraction")

I think if they took Dreama Walker out of the show, it would be a whole lot better. Her eyes are irritating to me; I can't fully enjoy the show with her on it. LOVE Eric Andre, wish he was a bigger character.

Its probably the fact that the show was named "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23" That should totally be an option on the poll. It's on part with S@#% my Dad Says and GCB. Don't put swears in the title of shows! If anything, Cougar Town proved how important a good title is. No one wants to say "Hey, check out my favorite show insert poorly named show here. It's great!"

Love both these shows! So sad about this news...

That sucks, I really enjoy this show. When there are several hit shows on all at the same time, you either have to adjust your expectations for ratings or move it to another decent night for comedy against weaker competition. ABC's really doing us wrong this season.

I watched one episode of this show. The pilot specifically. It was OK. However it was not enough to hold my interest.

It didn't totally grab me during the pilot either but it got a lot better.

God, the Thanksgiving episode was EPIC! Dreama Walker was brilliant in that episode.

I cannot believe this. It is soooooo good and they cancel it. And the same time New girl is still going. Wow.

Moments like this make me feel like i can't trust these networks. I thought this show was so funny, laught out loud funny too(that time when that old lady screamed "rape!" when June was trying to help her with her groceries?)unlike other shows which i could get through watching but never really laugh at. sigh. Maybe I just have a completely different taste in comedies than what other people consider "funny". And i agree with FoxZerro about two broke girls, i couldn't finish watching that one.
