Actor Corey Haim Found Dead
Actor Corey Haim was found dead early this morning in Los Angeles, according to multiple reports. Initial reports say the cause of death is an accidental overdose, but an official cause won't be determined until an autopsy is performed.
Haim, 38, was one of the '80s biggest teen stars, and magazine pages with photos of him adorned the walls of girls' rooms all over the world. His roles in notable films included The Lost Boys, Lucas, and License to Drive. More recently, he starred in the A&E; reality television show The Two Coreys, with one-time pal and co-star Corey Feldman.
That show lasted two seasons before it was canceled, with Feldman saying Haim's battles with drugs caused a strain on their relationship. Haim had struggled with drug addiction from an early age, and publicly acknowledged his difficulties. In a 2007 interview with Larry King, Haim called himself "a chronic relapser for the rest of my life."
Haim's death is the second passing of a '80s teen star in the last month. In February, the body of Andrew Koenig, who played "Boner" on the TV series Growing Pains, was found dead of apparent suicide in Vancouver.
