American Dad! Will Be Around Through 2013

... Fox has renewed American Dad! through the 2012-2013 TV season, which will bring it through its seventh season. Which means American Dad! has been on for five seasons. Which means I'm getting really old. [Fox via press release]

... The brave-and-bold bullies of the Navy stuffed the prancing-and-dancing pansies of McKinley high school in their lockers last night, FINALLY. Total viewers monster NCIS finally beat ratings monster Glee last night in the adult demo, 4.4 to 4.3. This is the first time the procedural beat the musical in that demographic this season. I have no idea why anyone watches either of these shows. [TV By the Numbers]

... Former Dharma & Greg star Jenna Elfman is circling the lead role in the ABC comedy pilot Bad Mom. The show would see Elfman playing a—wait for it—bad mom who has to take care of her kids after her own mom stops looking after them. Elfman last tested the TV waters with Accidentally on Purpose. [Deadline Hollywood]

... One of the crew members featured in Deadliest Catch has been found dead. The body of Justin Tennison of the F/V Time Bandit was found in a hotel in Alaska. The cause of his death has not yet been determined. [TMZ]

... Christina Ricci is in talks to star in ABC's Pan Am, a drama centered on the jet-setting lives of pilots and flight attendants from the once-mighty airline. It's not clear what role she'll play, but I'll go out on a limb of the sexist 1960's-era tree and guess she'll be a stewardess. [THR]

... V's queen lizard Morena Baccarin will guest-star on an episode of The Mentalist. She'll play an "attractive and sexy woman." Seriously. [EW]

... Comedian Kevin Hart has signed on to star alongside Rob Corddry in the Fox pilot Little in Common, about families involved with a Little League baseball team. Hart will play a father who takes sports very seriously. [Deadline Hollywood]

I love Glee. I am so tired of cop shows. People complain about Glee showing sex and alcohol but not about all these cop shows and detective dramas filled with murder and rape. What's the difference between CSI, NCIS, Law and Order, Criminal Minds, etc., etc., etc.? Nothing. These shows are completely interchangeable. That's why they are easy to watch. They ALL follow the exact same pattern. GLEE IS ORIGINAL! They have a unique cast full of triple threats and pack more comedy and REAL drama in one hour than all those cop shows combined. And, yes, Glee actually requires that you pay attention. You need to listen to the words of the songs, you need to follow the emotions of the character be they slapstick (ala Jane Lynch's Sue Sylvester) or beautifully subtle (Chris Colfer's vulnerable face when Kurt is trying to hold back emotion.)

Glee will be remembered. I know this because I'm not some teenager who's knowledge of TV history goes as far as the Jay Leno-Conan O'Brien fiasco. I remember when the ORIGINAL STAR TREK was on the air. It struggled against a slew of Westerns back in the 1960's... but how many "Gunsmoke" conventions have you heard of? How many "Bonanza" movies has JJ Abrams directed for the big screen?

My message to Ryan Murphy is this.... stay true to your vision and don't give it away.

I don't like NCIS because the storyline is always predictable, the characters are boring, and...well, I'm not sure what other reasons I could possibly need.

american dad? well i think its just farlane trying to make a cheaper version of family guy, and south park is twice as funny as american dad

  • headclub Feb 25, 2011

Ok I'll repeat what I said.... The Simpsons is 10+ years past its prime. Family Guy has become barely funny. Cleveland show never did it for me. Bob's Burgers couldn't be less funny if they tried! American Dad is the only one that's still funny and continues to surprise me. Just check out this years Christmas episode for proof.

If you don't like NCIS then maybe it's because you simply have bad taste. I'm not a fan of Glee, mostly because I have no interest in shool-based stories, but I wouldn't criticize people for liking it.
