Aniston says wedding rumors untrue
Jennifer Aniston, who played Rachel on the long-running NBC sitcom Friends, spoke out about rumors that told of daytime queen Oprah Winfrey throwing a lavish wedding for Aniston and beau Vince Vaughan. Aniston and Vaughan began dating while filming the romantic comedy The Break-Up in Chicago.
Aniston, who divorced husband Brad Pitt in 2005, called in to Winfrey's talk show on Monday to dispel the pesky rumors, which had Winfrey spending $8 million on the wedding.
"The rumors are so unbelievable," Aniston said over the phone. "I guess, at a certain point, you have no other choice but to think it's funny."
Some of the details of the supposed wedding included world-reknowned cellist Yo Yo Ma playing the wedding march, $1 million dollars in flowers, a performance by rock band Coldplay, a seven-minute appearance by Bruce Willis, a poetry reading by Tara Reid, Tom Selleck's mustache under glass, and avant-garde acrobats Cirque du Soleil swinging overhead as the couple recited their vows.
Since Pitt and Aniston's high-profile divorce due to irreconcilable differences, the two have been attempting to move on despite the glare from the media. Pitt has been involved with actress Angelina Jolie, recently filing paperwork to become the adoptive father to her adopted children. After many months of denying the rumor, longtime friends Aniston and Vaughan admitted that they had become romantically involved on the set of The Break-Up.
