Buckwild Star Shain Gandee Is Dead at 21

UPDATE: MTV has confirmed Gandee's death, according to Deadline.

If this is an April Fool's gag, it's a REALLY dark April Fool's gag (and sadly, I don't think it's an April Fool's gag): TMZ is reporting that 21-year-old Shain Gandee, star of MTV's Buckwild, has been found dead in a vehicle in West Virginia, along with two other bodies.

Suffice it to say, this tragic news going to call into question whether the show will actually return for Season 2.

This is so sad, the fact is that a young man, his uncle and his friend lost their lives tonight, and they have family and friends that are mourning them. In situations like these, we should not be casting judgement, but sharing our compassion, and offering condolences to the families of the deceased. RIP Shain Gandee, David Gandee and Donald Robert Myers.

    Don't drink and drive kids

please get the facts before posting a comment like that since your comment could be interpreted as them dying from a "drunk driving" scenario.

Per reports: "The manner of death is accidental and the cause was carbon monoxide poisoning for all three subjects"

Very sad. Any idea who was with him? He seemed like a sweet kid.

His Uncle and an unidentified third body were also found.

how horrible for the family! I liked Shain the most out of all the cast and the show was a guilty pleasure of mine (I blame Price for getting me to watch the show--fun lighthearted show).

So sad. Of the few episodes I caught, Shain seemed to be a real sweet kid who loved life.

I read that his death was most likely caused by carbon monoxide poisoning. It would be disrespectful to continue the show because what would they do? Mourn him for an episode and then go back to partying like nothing ever happened? MTV should make a smart decision for once and end it... at least for the family's sake.

Sad, he was a great (tv personality? person?) I loved the show..he was my favorite one. He seemed to live a good life and had good friends and family. Prayers go out to them all.

I'd like to say I hope the show returns..but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't. He was kind of the soul of the show..it'd probably feel empty/pointless without him. Plus it'd be weird to continue that (for his friends) right?

This is what makes April fools day awkward, imagine someone calls you claiming to be a doctor or a cop or someone and they tell you your husband or whoever's just died. But you remember it's April fools so you just say oh sure and hang up, then it turns out they were serious.
