Casting Call: Heroes Promotes its Villain (and Releases a Trailer), FlashForward Gets Lost

NBC's Heroes likes what it sees from new cast member Robert Knepper, who plays the villain Samuel in the upcoming season of the superhero drama. The actor has been promoted to "series regular," which means we'll be seeing a lot more of the charismatic bad guy.

Knepper, best known for his role as T-Bag on Prison Break, was originally signed for six episodes of the upcoming season, but thanks to the promotion he may now appear in all of them -- and judging by the trailer below, that's a great thing. Samuel is described as an "Earth mover" and the leader of a carnival filled with super-powered heroes that have been hiding in plain sight.

Elsewhere, a casting conundrum has been solved over at CBS' Three Rivers. Four-time Emmy Award winner and Oscar nominee Alfre Woodard has replaced Julia Ormond as the female lead on the medical drama. Ormond starred in the pilot, but CBS opted for a different direction and picked up Woodard.

Catching up on news out of Comic-Con, Lost star Dominic Monaghan has been added to the cast of ABC's FlashForward, one of the network's big sci-fi pushes for the fall. Also joining the roster is actress Gabrielle Union (Bad Boys II).

Finally, Battlestar Galactica's Jamie Bamber (who played Apollo on the SyFy Channel hit) will reunite with former costar Tahmoh Penikett (Helo) on Fox's Dollhouse. Bamber, who is currently the lead in Law & Order: UK, will guest star in the season two premiere.

They have to play Bob Marley's Redemption song just one time this season. Robert Knepper is going to be awesome on the show. Any actor who can play 3 seasons with a fake wooden hand has my respect hands down.(no pun intended) It gave me chills how good it was and whenever I get chills from watching a movie preview the movie always makes over 300 million dollar. I know Heroes is a T.V. show but it is still a good sign. p.s. Glad to see Sylar is fighting to get his body back.

p.s.s. It looks like Ando might finally get Hiro's sister.

i seriously welcome robert knepper and his new villain addition...but my concern and never ending rant is that why they let sylar stayed on...kinda extra and redundant. His storyline usually pisses me off...cos when the characters are about to develop somewhere...they get tied with him....geez...

zachary should move on to other show, movies maybe...he done everything he could with the character already...but seems that pple still cant see it

well this is an awesome trailer. hopefully the series will "Redeem" itself with "Redemption" and it looks like it just might. I wish Fuller would stick with it through the whole season though...

The trailer for season 4 of Heroes rocks. I think Robert Knepper will bring Heroes back to its glory days (season 1)!!
I hope writers and Tim Kring will not make wrong turns with the stories, plots and storytelling just like it happened in season 2 and 3.
