CBS Is Still Amazing Race-ing

... CBS has ordered a 20th edition of The Amazing Race, the globe-trottin', award-gobblin' reality competition series. Last year's cycles did just fine for the network (averaging 11.2 million viewers), so the renewal is hardly a surprise. The success of the show has even spawned an imitator, ABC's upcoming Expedition Impossible, which is very similar to The Amazing Race except for two key details: ABC's version is more of an expedition instead of a race, and it's less amazing and more impossible. You're welcome. [CBS via press release]

... Comedian Dave Chappelle is not returning to television or the online space as online outlet The Daily suggested. A rep for Chappelle said the report, which said Chappelle was eyeing Netflix or Hulu to make his long-awaited comeback, was absolutely poppycock, hogwash, balderdash, horsefeathers, and tommyrot. ... ABC has given Wipeout a fifth season, because guys getting run over by giant balls is as timeless as Shakespeare. [ABC via press release]

... Christian Bale once proved his dedication to his craft by losing 63 pounds to play the lead in The Machinist. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's Rob McElhenney is also proving his dedication to the craft (and snacks and watching TV on the couch), but in the opposite direction. The man who plays Mac on the FX comedy reportedly gained 50 pounds between seasons, simply because he thought it would be funny for his character, who is known for being the most ripped of the guys on the show. This is already the best season of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia since season 3. [Vulture]

... Rumor alert! True Blood, which is becoming more about gays than vampires, is turning one of its straight characters gay next season. But Michael Ausiello, who says once you find out who it is it will make total sense, isn't saying who! You little tease, Michael. Let's make our own guesses. I'm going with Lafayette or Pam. [TV Line]

... HBO is developing The Viagra Diaries, based on the book by Barbara Rose Brooker, and playing the lead will be Goldie Hawn. The show follows a woman (Hawn) who must deal with being single after her husband leaves her. It is not, I repeat NOT, about the personal journal of an anthropomorphic Viagra pill, much to the chagrin of user Headclub. Ain't that right, Headclub? But that would make a pretty awesome show. As previously stated Lafayette is already gay and Pam is clearly already Bi, so those are some terrible guesses.
