Continuum Season 2 Gets a U.S. Premiere Date, Moves to Fridays on SyFy
SyFy will continue feeding its budget-friendly habit of importing scripted Canadian TV with another round of Continuum, which aired its Season 1 finale in the U.S. last week. The network announced the Season 2 pickup today, along with a a premiere date: Friday, June 7 at 10pm.
The series, about a hottie cop from the future who time-warps to the present day to hunt down a group of anti-corporate terrorists, is produced by Canadian broadcaster Showcase, and was renewed by that network last August. Season 2 will run for 13 episodes and premiere in Canada on April 21, about two months ahead of its U.S. debut.
Note that the series will be switching timeslots in its return, as its Season 1 spot of Mondays at 10pm is now earmarked for Warehouse 13 (which returns for the second half of Season 4 on April 29). Continuum will pick up Fridays where Merlin leaves off; the wizard will wrap his five-season run on May 31.
From what I've gathered around these parts, ya'll seem to like Continuum quite a bit. But how many of you are familiar with the series because of SyFy, as opposed to learning of it through the internet/your Canadian friends? Will you be watching Season 2? And if so, will you be waiting to see it Stateside or "acquiring" it through other means?
