Television audiences are totally used to the idea of shows being adapted from books or films. They've reluctantly been subjected to shows that got their start as blogs or Twitter feeds. And they can now expect to see a lot more rusty pickup trucks, empty beer cans, and American flags on their TV screens, because Fox is working on a show that's based on a country song.

Yes, a country song.

According to Deadline, the network and Jerry Bruckheimer are developing Two Black Cadillacs, a six-hour miniseries based on the 2012 Carrie Underwood song of the same name. The hit single tells the tale of a man whose wife and mistress find out about each other and join forces in a plot to kill the lowdown cheatin' scum.

Underwood, who rose to fame after winning the fourth season of American Idol and starred in NBC's The Sound of Music Live, will serve as an executive producer.

Would you watch Two Black Cadillacs? In case you're not familiar with the song, here's the music video for it:

I think this actually doesn't sound too bad! Depends on how they tell the story, though, because now we already know the ending. ;)

I've noticed women tend to sing songs about the consequences of cheating, and men tend to sing songs about the joy of cheating. Why do you suppose that is?

I wonder what the into/theme music will be...

I actually don't hate this, though. The plot could be fun in a dark way. Also, I like Carrie's music so.....:)

Don't you mean "event series" as you keep insisting on pushing?
