Why is everyone hating on Season 2? Was it as good as Season 1? No. Was it as good as the book? Hell no. But it was still great. Yeah, they changed Dany's story and that sucks but anyone who's read Clash of Kings knows that her story was incredibly cerebral, not to mention repititious. If it had been brought over wrote from the book, Dany would have been absent from half the season. She was missing from 2 episodes as it was.

The writing was great. The acting was great. And Blackwater was a masterpiece. What more could you ask for?

You answered your 1st question with your 2nd and 3rd question(even more so with 3rd question and your answer). In 4th book, half of main characters are missing, but it is still a great book. So she would be absent from some episodes. So what. Fuck them for what they are doing. I love Dany's,Jon Snow's,Arya's,Tyrion's chapters in books. They need no tweaking or anything. Those are my favourite characters. Other characters are also great and well written.

If you were honestly expecting it to even compare to the book, why did you even bother watching it in the first place? I could have told you the book would be better without even having to watch it. I have never seen a film adaption of a book that was ever better than the source material.

The 4th book is different because DwD & FfC have a very set divide. Whatsmore, something happens in the every story. Of the 70 chapters in CoK, Dany only narrates 5. And nothing happens in 3 of them. She arrives in Qarth. She goes to the House of the Undying. That's about it.

As for the changes, what difference does it make in the grand scheme of the story? Irri's dead and her little love triangle from later books never happens. Big whoop.

I'm sorry but what was changed in Arya's, Jon's & Tyrion's stories? Weasel soup & the chain were cut for budgetary reasons but the essential story & the message that GRRM was trying to convey are in there.

I really think you're being too harsh. It's abundantly clear that David & Dan love the story & are doing their level best to bring the story to life within the parameters they have to live in. Setting Dany aside(whose story was pretty minor in CoK), it was an very faithful adaption & excellently done. GRRM is consulting on all of this. If he approves the changes and can live with them, I don't see why you can't.

Finally, the put the Reeds in.

  • Inigo_Montoya Feb 03, 2013

YAY I love the Reeds in the books!

  • itsmemadie01 Jan 27, 2013

Arya is like a big girl now... I'm so excited. I hope they have 12 episode instead on 10... GOT Sunday nights is probably HBO's finest hours!

  • bonezrulz05 Jan 28, 2013

It is only 10 eps again. However, each episode is gonna be 5 mins longer than last year. So technically, that's a whole 11th episode parsed in :)

  • Inigo_Montoya Feb 03, 2013

5 mins. is better than none!! But still…5 minutes??

  • reda482 Jan 26, 2013

  • totomomo182 Jan 26, 2013

You know HBO season 3 trailers sucks I have seen on YoutTube someone who made a fan based trailer which is much better than what they put out and those bastards removed it instead of taking his trailer and paying him some money for the great job he did

Mance looks... older than I thought, and a lot less handsome. But then again, this guy played Caesar in "Rome", he's a tremendously good actor. Let the games begin!

  • gtbell Feb 03, 2013

"This guy" is Ciaran Hinds, a very fine actor, in the strictest sense.
He plays politicians very well, too.

  • eduardoperet Feb 09, 2013

I know who he is =)

Can't wait! Mance Rayder is completely different from how I imagined him, though. But the series haven't let me down yet, so fingers crossed he won't disappoint. :)

  • Left4Ed Jan 26, 2013

    Three words...

    THE RED WEDDING.

  • tezwreef Jan 26, 2013

Dont think it will be in this season as its based on the first half of the book, I read it ages ago though so not sure where abouts in the book it is.

  • sourabhshetty Jan 26, 2013

It was split into two separate books only in some places. In the US at least, I got it as a single book. So when they split A Storm of Swords, they will be doing it at a point slightly after the RW. They've already shot it, and a lot of people on set confirmed it.

I'm willing to bet it will be episode 9, because all of the major holy crap episodes have been episode 9.

Because those are usually the episodes that Martin writes for the shows... "Baelor", "Blackwater"... All I know is, it had BETTER be this season. I know they're splitting the book up, but I've been dying to see this since I read it. Another year of waiting would be brutal.

  • sourabhshetty Jan 31, 2013

GRRM did not write Baelor in season 1. He wrote episode 8 'The Pointy End'.

  • mcepin3 Jan 26, 2013

GRRM wrote episode 7 for season 3,so it might happen in that one. Or he will set everything up...I pray, that it will better than 2nd season. I love GRRM's books, but if they fuck up this season,I am done watching GoT.
