GO! announces line-up
The Nine Network has released its first week of programming for GO!, its new youth channel set to launch on Sunday August 9th.
The channel offers a range of familiar titles, many of which had already disappeared from Nine. It instantly feels like a cross between FOX8, TV1 and Arena and is dominated by US programs.
Although many of the shows have already screened on Nine, several big named titles will screen from episode one. So if you didn't see them the first time around, here's a great chance to get on board. Shows that are also removed from Nine, such as the ridiculous Dance Your Ass Off will also win a time on GO!
The channel is built on 12-hour blocks, with many prime-time shows winning a repeat the following day, much like pay television. Classification rules may prevent some from enjoying a daytime repeat.
On Sunday nights there's Wipeout Australia, The Big Bang Theory and Aliens in America. Each weeknight there's Entertainment Tonight, TMZ and Seinfeld from 7:00-8:30pm. Monday nights are aimed at boys with Dog The Bounty Hunter, Neighbours at War and Bad Lads Army. On Tuesdays there's female-skewed reality with Survivor: Gabon, The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.
Wednesday is sci-fi night with Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Fringe and Eleventh Hour. Thursdays get ready for Gossip Girl, Moonlight and The Hills. Friday and Saturdays is CSI night or movies.
Daytimes also offer classic repeats of favourites including I Dream of Jeannie, Bewitched and The Nanny. And if you're a music fan, you're in for a treat, with The ARIA Music Show playing clips from late nights until the early morn.
Later this year it will add the premiere of The Vampire Diaries.
In order to see GO! you only need a digital television or set-top box.
GO! will join ABC2, ONE HD and SBS TWO as one of the new Freeview channels.
