James Gandolfini Is Dead at Age 51

By Jen Trolio

I have to be honest, I'm not thinking all that clearly right now because I'm utterly shocked by this tragic news: Actor James Gandolfini, known for his iconic, Emmy-winning portrayal of one of television's most famous gangsters, has died at age 51, according to Deadline Hollywood. Early reports suggest that the cause of death is a massive heart attack; Gandolfini was in Italy at the time.

While to TV fans the actor will also be known as Tony Soprano, the mob boss and loving (if misguided) father at the heart of one of HBO's most successful dramas—will you ever forget the way he said "gabagool"?—Gandolfini's long and impressive resume includes roles both large and small in True RomanceWhere The Wild Things Are, In the LoopZero Dark Thirty, and a host of other films. He is survived by his wife and two children.

R.I.P., Mr. Gandolfini. You will be missed.

It's the usual shameful press outings now appearing; which are pretty much blaming him for his sad death, due to over indulging in his life. Fuckers. Who the hell wants to read lists of his last meal with his son as if it was one of many reckless suicide trips, or that some anonymous twat from AA said he wasn't serious about quitting booze? I'm against glorifying the recently departed, but come on, for once.

The Sopranos wasn't my type of show at all, but this is really sad news. My thoughts are with his family.

Was surprised to hear it, very talented actor, and "The Sopranos" was wonderful.
To bad he didn't paid a lot of attention to his health.
Looked forward to see his new show that was rumored.

Sad news. I probably only saw 2 or 3 episodes of The Sopranos when it was on Canadian basic cable late nights a few years back, but Mr Gandolfini's charisma stood out as a major factor in the show's success. Sincere condolences to his family and his many fans and admirers today.

“All due respect, you got no fucking idea what it's like to be Number One. Every decision you make affects every facet of every other fucking thing. It's too much to deal with almost. And in the end you're completely alone with it all.” - Tony Soprano

I wasn't a religious watcher or The Sopranos when it was on, hell I wasn't old enough. I saw episodes and as I got older I respected the show. I have seen Jame Gandolfini a few times in comedic roles. 51 is a shocking age to pass away at. R.I.P., Mr. Gandolfini.
