Is 2015 shaping up to be the year of John Stamos? The Full House actor could be a very busy man next year after booking two new TV gigs, according to Deadline.

Stamos will headline the ABC midseason series Members Only (previously known as The Club), an upstairs/downstairs drama set at a fancy Connecticut country club. He'll play the billionaire husband to Natalie Zea's Mickey, a powerful member of the family that owns the club. ABC ordered the show, from Party of Five writer Susannah Grant, straight to series in February.

Additionally, Stamos has signed on to direct and star in a comedy project about a ladies' man who discovers that he has a grown son who's nothing like him. The potential series, which is being developed by ABC Studios, would be executive-produced by Dan Fogelman (The Neighbors) and Danny Chun.

Stamos also recently filmed a guest-starring role on Fogelman's upcoming fairy-tale musical series Galavant, which will air on ABC during Once Upon a Time's winter hiatus. The actor has a long history with the network, going back to the short-lived sitcom Jake in Progress, the short-lived drama Thieves, and the beloved family comedy Full House

In other Stamos news, word spread last week that Warner Bros. TV is considering a reboot of Full House. Stamos, who has an ownership stake in the show, has already stated that he would be involved.

Which of Stamos's current projects sounds the best?

I wonder if being mentioned in Guardians of the Galaxy as one of Earth's outlaws had anything to do with his renewed enthusiasm :)

Any new drama on ABC if it's not written by Shonda Rimes will be canceled. lol

Too bad he's likely to never again make anything as fun as the first season of Jake in Progress was. That was surprisingly sharp, featuring some good supporting characters and lots of decent, rapid-fire jokes. It was practically screwball comedy, something I love. (Note: Praise only applies to its first season.)

2nd show sounds like part of the final season of Californication

I hope Members Only will thrive, because I seem to remember it will have John from The Tomorrow People in it.

I get the impression both projects are going to wind up getting cancelled.

    Your impression is right.

He annoyed me so much in ER - I still have to get over it ;)

Two shows at the same time? Apparently he is trusting that at least one of them will fail. Confident.

Maybe he's trying to get Rebecca Romijn to notice him again?

  • JeremyB Sep 04, 2014

haha because John Stamos would need Rebecca Romijns attention, look at him, GORGEOUS.. He is 51 and aging better than Rebecca. He has no problem getting a girls attention.
