Man Up Has Been Pulled From ABC's Schedule

Man down! Hoo boy, that never gets old. ABC has re-jiggered its Tuesday-night schedule to sweep the struggling Man Up under the rug. The new comedy starring Chris Moynihan and Dan Fogel may have aired its last episode this past Tuesday, as ABC has pulled the show from its schedule, according to a pair of press releases from the network. There's no word on whether the remaining episodes will air.

Airing in Man Up's place moving forward will be repeats of Last Man Standing, which was picked up for a full season earlier this year. Man Up and Last Man Standing make up a large chunk of one of the TV trends of the fall season: men trying to reinstate their macho-ness in a society that favors deep-Vs, skinny jeans, and pomade. With CBS's How to Be a Gentleman also a goner, it hasn't been a good year for wimpy men. Tim Allen, however, will beat you up.

Man Up had previously been left off ABC's midseason schedule, which essentially meant it was canceled. With today's news, the nails in the show's coffin have been hammered in a little deeper. As you can tell by my review of the pilot and my ranking of the fall season's new network comedies, I won't be shedding any tears over this one.

ABC did not respond to requests for comment as of press time. [UPDATE] ABC has responded: "Yes it’s been currently taken off our schedule but it is very much in contention for next season." And if you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you.

this show was GREAT..! had me laughing every episode and that is was a comedy should do .. clever writing and funny plots..!! not sure what all the bad remarks are about and why they cancelled this show and still run episodes of lesser quality shows

We just started watching this show, and I think it's funny. They don't give shows very long to make it. That sucks if they don't bring it back.

All 13 Episodes are available on Hulu, so that is not a good sign that they will be airing on ABC.

The show sucked, but Grant was hilarious. Unfortunately, not even a man that awesome could keep the Titanic afloat.

For a regular type of sitcom, I thought "Man Up" was pretty good. I mean better than Tim Allen's ex-coke head, red-state conservative humor and it'll be way better than the cross-dressing show they're replacing it with. For having such a good Wednesday comedy block, ABC really settles for mediocrity. By the fourth episode, I felt "Msan Up" had abandoned the doomed "wimpy men" premise that hopefully leads to "Last Man's Standing"'s lack of a second season.

Didn't think it was that bad at all, rather have that then repeats.
