ABC Family Orders New Seasons of Melissa & Joey and Baby Daddy, Plus Three New Pilots

When you think of top-notch family comedy, you think of ABC Family! And you'll continue thinking that for at least another year because ABC Family has renewed its two sitcoms Melissa & Joey and Baby Daddy for a pair of Season 4s. Yes, Melissa & Joey and Baby Daddy will be on the air for a fourth season even though Fox's Enlisted probably won't even make it to Season 2. That's television for ya!

ABC Family also ordered a trio of drama pilots to potentially beef up its original programming slate. Let's take a look at 'em!

Alice in Arabia follows a teen girl who gets "unknowingly kidnapped" (ummm, unknowingly?) by members of her extended family after something happens to her parents. Also, her extended family happens to be Saudi Arabian. The network logline goes on to say that the girl, let's call her "Alice," becomes "a virtual prisoner in her grandfather's royal compound," so I don't know how "unknowing" this kidnapping can actually be. The series will follow her attempts to return home to America but I bet she also catches the eye of a handsome Saudi prince! Note: This is NOT a sequel to Lawrence of Arabia

Recovery Road is based on Blake Nelson's novel of the same name and centers on a teenage girl named Maddie who goes to rehab after struggling with addiction. Addiction to what? I dunno, but in the book she's a boozer and a rageaholic. On the show, Maddie will spend her nights at a treatment facility and her days in high school, pretending nothing's wrong. How many cute boys will she meet in rehab? A TON, probably!

Unstrung follows brother and sister tennis players Luke and Ellie Holt as they compete in the world of professional tennis. Yes, they are both extremely attractive. But even though they have the net skillz to ace the competition and the cool to keep the media at bay, there's a family secret bubbling up that could make everything suck. Oh no! Also, expect lots of cute boys and girls in tennis outfits.

Which of these pilots sounds best to you? And are you excited for more Melissa & Joey and/or Baby Daddy?

Melissa & Joey is one of the few TV shows that I buy off iTunes because it's a really great show. Love the chemistry between those two.

I really loved the show BABY DADDY. Am really hoping that there will be a season 4 for this show. I really want to see how Riley feels about Danny leaving. I love the show. I never missed and episode and now that is on Netflix I watched it all over again just to make sure i didn't miss and episode.

Seriously....what shows like"16 and pregnant" is a good show?? What does a show like that teach the young kids that watch a STUPID SHOWlike that. What about the really stupid show about dating in the nude.....do you think that is a good show???

None of the new shows sound good or interesting.

not a single one of those new shows sound remotely interesting... but M&J; and Baby Daddy are the only two shows I like on ABC Family... they sure have fallen such a long way...

I agree, Baby Daddy at least teaches young people that even though mistakes are made(having a child at a young age) you should still take care of your baby...no matter what !!!!! Even though it is a comedy, it still has teaching behind it...not teaching 16 year old kids to go out and get pregnant....I dont know who was the IDIOT who thought of that show...my kids would NEVER watch a STUPID SHOW like that !!!! Why is that show still on the air....where are parents????

Sounds like ABC family is losing it touch none of the new shows sound good. Even the new shows in the summer don't sound good. Happy for Melissa and Joey. I'll stick to that and switch at birth.

Alice of Arabia sounds a horrendous racist joke.

This changes everything! I'll have to make huge adjustments to my DVR. Baby Daddy has been renewed! All those iconic performances!

I thought this was said earlier last year or something...
Oh, well!!! It's said once again for another great news report....

I sure do love/like watching Melissa & Joey...
It's one of the best sitcoms standing on Tv right now...

I don't know why other people are so bother by Melissa & Joey just only for kids point of view... While the facts Melissa Joan Hart & Joey Lawrence, make it so great with their acting and appearances... It's called Melissa & Joey should be major clue, it's more on lead title characters than the kids... They don't actually show much on the kids anyway, It's basically more on Melissa Joan Hart & Joey Lawrence's roles and appearances... The kids just follows them of a support involvement back and forth... And of the fact Lennox & Ryder are Mel's niece & nephew, we're stuck seeing them being also main of the show....

The mention of Joey Lawrence reminds me of the stories about him spending hours in the studio parking lot playing his own music loudly in his car trying to get other NBC employees attention. Hilarious!
