... Sarah Jessica Parker is trading in Carrie Bradshaw's fancy dresses and Manolo Blahniks for something more suitable to investigative journalists, like jeans, probably. The Sex and the City actress, who hasn't done much TV work since the series ended in 2004, has been cast in Busted, a new hour-long drama based on the book Busted: A Tale of Corruption and Betrayal in the City of Brotherly Love. Set in Philadelphia (obviously), Busted tells the true story of two journalists, Wendy Ruderman and Barbara Laker, who uncover, through the help of a criminal informant, the corruption of the police department's narcotics force. Parker will play one of the two leads. David Frankel will direct and executive produce, while Don Roos is set to write the pilot. The producers will shop the series once they have the rest of the cast in place. [Deadline]

... Project Greenlight, which is returning to HBO after a nine-year absence, has released a new promotional video featuring some dudes that look like old versions of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.

... Paul Scheer (The League) announced today that NTSF:SD:SUV, his Adult Swim comedy which wrapped Season 3 in December, is on hiatus indefinitely. He's not saying he'll never write another season, but right now he's busy working on other shows for Adult Swim and HBO and that's obviously more important. [Yahoo]

... MTV is bringing back Total Request Live with pop singer Ariana Grande for one day, which frankly is one day too many. The popular series was the network's biggest franchise in the late '90s and early aughts, but was canceled in 2008 after MTV finally realized no one CARED about music videos anymore. But this time there's a twist: It's called Total Ariana Live, and the singer will be performing her latest hit, debut her follow-up single, AND discuss her upcoming sophomore album. If any of that sounds mildly interesting to you, please call a helpline it all goes down on July 2. [USA Today]

... Diane Sawyer is stepping down as ABC World News lead anchor after five years to lead “new programming," which will tackle big issues and special interviews. George Stephanopoulos, who anchors Good Morning America, will add the title of Chief Anchor of ABC News to his resume as he'll anchor special reports and breaking news. David Muir of 20/20 will become anchor and managing editor of World News beginning September 2. [Deadline]

... I don't know much about Jillian Michaels, but I know that she's a quitter. She's leaving The Biggest Loser AGAIN, which marks the third time she's quit the NBC show. They say it's a woman's prerogative to change her mind, but holy crap, you're making us all look bad, lady. Just make a decision and live with it. [USA Today]

... Girls is certainly making use of famous faces in Season 4. So far, Gillian Jacobs, Jason Ritter, and Zachary Quinto have all been announced as guest stars. Added to that roster today is Natasha Lyonne (Orange Is the New Black). Lyonne will play Rickey, and that's all we know because Lena Dunham really, really wants to be Matthew Weiner when she grows up. [TV Line]

... Remember that Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story that's coming to Lifetime to kill all your fondest childhood memories? Well, Ken Tremblett (Psych) has signed on to portray Dennis Haskins, the actor who played Bayside High School principal Richard Belding on the series. Because everyone cares about WTF Dennis Haskins was doing behind-the-scenes. [Mashable]

... If you hate soccer as much as I do and the World Cup is your own personal Ambien, you don't want to miss Triumph the Insult Comic Dog make fun of all the soccer fans in New York as they watch their favorite teams win, lose, and bore the crap out of you. [Team Coco]

... After a lot of knock-down drag-out debates, we've come up with the 20 Best Episodes of the 2013-14 TV Season. Yes, Breaking Bad is on the list.

... Nick reviewed last night's Pretty Little Liars which delved a bit in to our girl Hanna.

... Is Michelle Fairley coming back to Game of Thrones? I don't know, but I bet if you read this, you'll find out.

... The CW announced its fall premiere dates, and you won't believe how long they're making us wait for The 100.

... The trailer for Season 2 of Nathan For You is out, and if you're not already watching this hilarious show, you definitely need to catch up before the new season starts.

... Season 5 of Covert Affairs premiered last night and MaryAnn reviewed it, because she's a champ and we also know you really want to read it.

I tried to watch Louie but its like just a big questionmark. I don't know what the hell that show is about. The League is funny.

Bummer about NTSF:SD:SUV:: (yes, it ends with two colons). It's more consistently funny than its sister show, Childrens Hospital (yes, no apostrophe). Oh well, at least Paul is still developing content for [as]. No idea what he's working on for HBO but I'll be sure to check it out.

Enjoying soccer and enjoying Triumph are not mutually exclusive. If anything, I enjoyed that video more.

  • joeca1234 Jun 26, 2014

Unrelated but in a world where shows like Siberia and Crossbones have a community why doesn't Dominion have one? Please, we really ARE worthy...

  • antmorris3511 Jun 26, 2014

I asked the same question about "Copper". Three weeks later it was cancelled.
But I do see Dominion as hanging around for a while. At least a few seasons.

  • ludoTV Jun 27, 2014

Not sure about Dominion's life expectancy but being cancelled / off the air doesn't seem to be an issue for Star Crossed and other equally forgettable shows so Dominion will hopefully have one soon...

  • antmorris3511 Jun 27, 2014

Eps one and two were enjoyable. I don't completely understand some parts of the story though. Namely the significance of certain characters or factions. Dominion is good enough that maybe I'll give Defiance a try.

  • Taccado Jun 26, 2014

Gillian Jacobs will be on Girls? For a split second I thought you meant Gillian Anderson, and my heart jumped. How awesome would it be if Anderson did a guest stint on Girls?

  • Carla-Wexler Jun 26, 2014

She could've played Jessa's evil pimp mommy who gets her hooked on smack and threatens to beat her up if she doesn't turn enough tricks!
