... The U.K. version of Being Human has been renewed for a fifth season by the BBC (and therefore BBC America). The drama, about a werewolf, a ghost, and a vampire who are friends, is still a hit in the U.K. despite losing two of its three main characters prior to Season 4. This news comes not long after the American version, which airs on Syfy, was renewed for a third season. [EW]

... FX is eying an adaption of the Coen Brothers' award-winning film Fargo, a dark comedy about a murder investigation in bleak and snowy North Dakota. In terms of unique settings and characters, it doesn't get much better than this. I'm going to go ahead and give this the greenlight. [Variety]

... More than a year had elapsed since the Season 4 finale of Mad Men before Season 5 made it to air, but whatevs. Last night's premiere was the series' highest-rated episode ever, averaging 3.5 million viewers, more than 20 percent up from the Season 4 premiere. Way to go you racist, womanizing, liver-destroying jerks! [Deadline Hollywood]

... Jaime Pressly has accepted the fact that her terrible Fox comedy I Hate My Teenage Daughter might not be back for a Season 2, let alone finish its first season. The former My Name is Earl star has landed a role in NBC's drama pilot Bad Girls, about a women's prison and its inmates. Pressly will play a sadistic, sexy warden, fulfilling the dreams of everyone who has seen Poison Ivy 3. (Netflix stream it, it's good stuff.) [Deadline Hollywood]

... "Always the guest-star, never the star" actress Tricia Helfer will guest-star on Criminal Minds. Look for her in the Season 7 finale, where she'll play a bad gal. Will someone please give Tricia a regular role? Please? [TV Line]

... Tennis star Serena Williams will play a lawyer in a June episode of Lifetime's Drop Dead Diva because... actually this makes no sense. [EW]

... Justified's Margo Martindale continues to be in hot demand. She'll guest-star on USA Network's Suits as the hardball-playin' union leader for a bunch of nurses. [EW]

... Also in hot demand now is Jon Bernthal, The Walking Dead's Shane. But he still has a bit of learning to do about what roles to take, as evidenced by his discussions to appear in an episode of Harry's Law. At least he'll play a psycho who holds a courtroom hostage. But really, Jon. Harry's Law? [TV Line]

... Breaking In is pulling a Community and doing a tribute episode, taking aim at the film Heathers (which Breaking In star Christian Slater starred in). The series has brought on Perrey Reeves (Entourage) and Aly Michalka (Hellcats) to play employees of the security firm's chief rivals. [TV Guide]

... Hawaii Five-0's Michelle Borth has been promoted to regular on the series. Congratulations, you Hollywood star! [Deadline Hollywood]

... Friday Night Lights' Gaius Charles says WHO CARES ABOUT TYPECASTING! Charles will play a football player on USA's Necessary Roughness, but to show that he can do more than just run the ball, he'll move to the outside and play wide receiver. Maybe one of these day's he'll really branch out and play tight end! [TV Line]

To be fair, Tricia Helfer did have a regular role on the new Battlestar Galactica for years . . . I'll grant you that she hasn't had one since then, but still. It's not as if it's never happened.

Ah come on. They could have at least done Gleaming the Cube. Or maybe Pump up The Volume.

I LOVE Fargo. I LOVE FX. I don't love -- or even like -- the prospects of a Fargo show on FX.

Got a little bored halfway through Being Human 4, it's the only year were I haven't eagerly watched every episode when it was on, losing Mitchell George and Nina was a bit much more for me, Annie was the worse character probably and she's the only one still in it.

The audience for Being Human has dropped by about 20%, but I like the new season, it's fresh.

Being Human is one of my favorite shows, British or American, so I'm glad it's renewed. I'm halfway through the current season now.

Wasn't Tricia Helfer cast in some TNT show about police dogs or something?

Heh, I think your talking about Dark Blue. A show that is sadly missed. She was just a costar on that, too.

Are people forgetting that Jon is going to be starring in a Frank Darabont produced show called L.A. Noir? This Harry's Law thing is just a side gig, nothing wrong with that.

Jon Bernthal was on Boston Legal another David E Kelley show!

They already tried to make Fargo into a TV show back in the late 90's. Edie Falco played the Frances McDormand role.
