NEWS NO ONE WANTED TO HEAR

... Kevin Clash, the man who provides the voice for Sesame Street's Elmo and the subject of the documentary Being Elmo, has left his job amidst allegations of underage sex with a minor. Ugh. A 23-year-old man claims Clash engaged in a sexual relationship with him when he was just 16 years old. Clash has admitted to a relationship with the accuser, but only after he was of legal age. Enjoy the rest of your day! UPDATE: The accusations have been recanted. [TMZ]

BUSINESS TIME

... According to Judd Apatow, the third season of HBO's Girls is about to start filming. This is newsworthy because the second season hasn't even aired and HBO hasn't announced Season 3. Plus what if mopey over-privileged nudists aren't hip in 2014? [Splitsider]

... This bit of news is only for those of you who like laughing and having fun! Everyone else, move along! Louis C.K.'s next standup special will be filmed on his current tour and air on HBO next year. [NY Times]

... MTV has canceled America's Best Dance Crew. All dance crews from here on out will have to share the title of "America's Best Dance Crew" until further notice. [EW]

... E! has renewed Married to Jonas, a show about some woman who is married to a Jonas broher, for a second season. [Deadline Hollywood]

CASTING NEWS

... 90210, the current king of pointless TV guest casting, has booked two more. Former New Kids on the Block heartthrob Joey McIntyre will take a few days off from whatever gas station he's working at to play Dixon's music manager. And Terrell Owens will take time out from begging NFL teams for a roster spot to make a cameo. Did you know that if you approach the casting agents of 90210 and point out your name in a phone book they'll give you a two-episode arc at the minimum? It's true! [EW / TV Line]

... Partridge Family star Shirley Jones will guest-star on the TBS version of Cougar Town. Jones will play a neighbor in Jules' cul-de-sac. [TBS via press release]

... Matthew Lillard (Scream, your nightmares) will join the cast of FX's upcoming drama The Bridge. He'll play a reporter in the series about detectives on the hunt for a serial killer that's operating on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border. [THR]

I quite liked America's Best Dance Crew so I'm slightly saddened to see it canceled. Then again, I absolutely HATED Lil Mama and am glad she'll never appear on my TV again.

I've missed Matthew Lillard. I guess that means I'll be checking out The Bridge.

Clash's accuser retracted his statement already, that was quick.

just saying: McIntyre was on Boston Public for a whole season(it was that long ago, but still :) & he was pretty good as far as I can remember, however I don't give a eff about this Beverly bs

The television season that WOULD NOT DIE!!! Seriously, more Malibu Country? Why not just buy syndication rights to "Reba" and air them at the tail instead?

Yay for Cougar Town casting! And I can totally see Shirley Partridge being sassy with or against the cul-de-sac crew.

  • TeddyBearZA Nov 14, 2012

Please let the next time 90210 is mentioned in the news briefs is to say it is cancelled!

As if "Tickle-Me Elmo" didn't have ENOUGH lewd innuendo associated with it......

  • AllieAllie Nov 14, 2012

Welp, my childhood was ruined today. I'll be going now.

  • IndianaMom Nov 14, 2012

I've read part of Kevin Clash's book, My Life as a Furry Red Monster, and he sounds like the nicest guy in the world. I hope he comes out of this OK.

Now, I don't watch Girls, or even get HBO, but I understand Donald Glover is to be in it sometime soon. Or has that already happened? Anyway, that's a plus.
