WATCH IT BEFORE YOUR FRIEND DOES NEWS

... You can watch the Fox sitcom The Goodwin Games right here before it premieres on television on Monday, May 20, but don't get too attached: Barring a miracle, this one is being burned off. [TV.com]

BUSINESS TIME

... Now that we know what "The Mother" looks like, it's time to look ahead. The final season of How I Met Your Mother will take place entirely during Barney and Robin's wedding weekend where Ted meets the mama, and it will show all of the other characters meeting her first. I do not know if this is a good idea, so won't you tell me? [TV Line]

... In "I didn't expect this, but I'm pleasantly surprised" news, Game of Thrones writers and creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are penning an episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I'm looking forward to hanging out with Charlie Kelly of House Gluehuff, King of the Rats. [Rob McElhenney's Twitter]

... TBS and TNT are taking a big step forward with regard to online TV viewing. This summer, both cable networks will be live-streamed online through various apps to cable and satellite subscribers. Elsewhere, ABC has announced that it is doing the same for mobile devices. I can't wait to watch Franklin & Bash on the bus and throw my phone out the window. [TBS and ABC via press release]

CASTING NEWS

... John Reese has a permanent driver. Person of Interest is making Sarah Shahi a full-time regular next season, meaning the badass and hotass Agent Shaw will be sticking around to snark at our favorite leg-shooter. This is great news, but let's hope she stays fairly rogue; we don't need anyone joining Reese, Finch, and Bear's business permanently. [THR]

... Shakira said she is not returning to The Voice as a judge/mentor, which shouldn't be surprising because she was just keeping the chair warm for Christina Aguilera. Aguilera is returning next season after taking a year off to be an international pop music superstar. CeeLo Green is coming back, too. [Access Hollywood]

... In more inconsequential singing-competition-show judging news, He-Man, I mean Nicki Minaj (go on and click the link, trust me!), is reportedly not returning to the American Idol judges' table. Rumors are swirling that producers are clearing out the entire cast of judges in an effort to revamp the show after sliding ratings. [US Weekly]

... CBS's new comedy The Millers is losing some cast members already. The roles that belonged to Michael Rapaport and Mary Elizabeth Ellis are now being recast, though we don't know why. But maybe it was Margo Martindale's farts. Oh, you'll have to watch the trailer to get that one. [Deadline Hollywood]

... The Simpsons will once again welcome former Saturday Night Live player Kristen Wiig to its audio booth. Wiig will voice an FBI agent in the episode "Homerland," which is due this fall. Wiig previously voiced a substitute teacher on the long-running series. [EW]

... Thrice-named actor Michael Raymond-James (Terriers) has been promoted to regular on ABC's Once Upon a Time, where he plays Neal/Baelfire. [TV Line]

"...we don't need anyone joining Reese, Finch, and Bear's business permanently."

We definetely don't. And I don't really get what's so exciting about making Reese look incompetent or dumb. We don't need this kind of female characters, put there just to make males appear inferior. Moreover it's a shame they also ruined Carter during this second season, now we don't really know where she stands on the show. She was their moral compass and now she goes and kidnap criminals. And Fusco wasn't even there in the end. Unbelievable.
We had a great team of four people, Shaw is welcome to lend a hand once in a while, but our guys have managed to handle things without her before, so we don't need her snarky remarks and her I kwok it all attitude. She should be more humble.

And I love POI, I haven't loved a show so much since ages, and I loved Shaw! But her addition as a regular just pissed me off. I only hope the writers will prove once again they're as great as I think they are and deal with this cast choice in the best possible way.

I'm very unsure about HIMYM's final season. I hope there are some flash forwards to Ted and the Mothers relationship or a few episodes after the meeting with maybe time jumps or something to make it end on a big event like the proposal or Teds wedding. Perhaps the midseason finale could be when Ted meets her and then half the season can be afterwards

I have more respect for Shakira now that she is leaving! Cristina can lick her boots, no comparison!!!!

watched the Goodwin Games, there's not much happening, I don't think it deserves a season or more episodes, even though I love Becki Newton she deserves better!!!

  • superjulia May 16, 2013

I don't think an entire season playing out over one weekend is the worst idea ever, but it surely isn't the best. It makes sense, though. We'll get to meet, like and eventually care about the mother before Ted does. It's clever. For him meeting her will have a huge impact but it wouldn't matter as much to us as viewers, if we didn't get to like her beforehand. This way, she's not just another girl Ted meets.

....... I'm not sure I'm gonna be able to watch the Voice with Xtina and CeeLo again instead of Shakira and Usher.

  • Muderboy May 16, 2013

That's okay, I've never been able to watch it - just more reality crapola...

  • tamaabi May 16, 2013

I need this to kill my brain cells, sometimes, wouldn't want to get a brain tumor.

  • Muderboy May 17, 2013

Okay, I can accept that as a valid reason, but no Storage Wars or Honey Boo Boo...

  • tamaabi May 17, 2013

    Nope, I would never.

  • Whedonrules May 16, 2013

There was a connection between Rob McElheney and 'Game of Thrones' as he hosted the Emmy Academy's 'Evening With Game of Thrones' with members of 'Games' cast and Benioff and Weiss and George RR Martin. If you can find it on internet it was really good. It seemed like an odd choice for host until he started firing questions. That news is awesome, should be a fun episode. I bet someone from 'Games' pops up in the episode as well.

  • sleepy-sonic May 16, 2013

So 24 episodes just for a weekend? This is the worst possible idea.

  • The_Kisser May 19, 2013

well 24 did a Season all in 1 day and that lasted at least I think 4-5 seasons

  • sleepy-sonic May 19, 2013

24 was different kind of show

  • The_Kisser May 26, 2013

yeah it was and just give it a break as it's something diff. It's like what if? 50 First dates was a TV Series as it kinda takes this premise.

  • Taccado May 16, 2013

David Benioff and D.B. Weiss writing an episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia? That sounds like one insanely brilliant idea! Next up: Dan Harmon writes an episode of Homeland.

  • bicelis May 16, 2013

Please, Nolan & Co, be careful with the whole Agent Shaw thing.
