... Summer Glau *click, click, click* HEY! I wasn't even done yet! Summer Glau, who many websites will refer to as a "fanboy's dream girl" or something like that but I'll just refer to her as an angel who fell to Earth, has set up her next major role. I think. Grey's Anatomy showrunner Shonda Rhimes Tweeted today that Glau will appear on the show as a guest star. No details on her appearance have been revealed, so your best bet is to start camping out wherever Grey's films immediately and bring your tiny pair of scissors so you can snip off a lock of her hair. [Shonda Rhimes' Twitter]

... Glee's Lea Michele is really broadening her portfolio and will appear on the Season 2 premiere of The Glee Project. Look for the second season of the reality show, which awards winners with guest stints on the Fox series, to start this summer on Oxygen. [TV Line]

... Starz's upcoming series Da Vinci's Demons, a fictional retelling of the life of Leonardo da Vinci, has cast its Leo. British actor Tom Riley will play the inventor, who will be portrayed in the series as a renaissance man of action and superhero. The 30-year-old Riley has done a variety of UK productions and stage plays. [Starz via press release]

... The Finder has cast the brother of lead character Walter (Geoff Stults): George Stults! If you figured out that George is the real-life brother of Geoff, congratulations! You win a prize. Pick it up from Price Peterson's desk. [TV Line]

... True Blood has recast the role of fairy Claude for Season 5. HBO clipped the pixie wings off of Neil Hopkins and stapled them onto the younger Giles Matthey (The Good Wife). Claude isn't expected to be a major character, but will appear in a multi-episode arc. [TV Guide]

... Yesterday was championship Sunday, with two NFL games played to determine which two teams will make it to the greatest thing a human being can ever be a part of, the Super Bowl. Some 48.7 million viewers tuned in to watch the New England Patriots edge out the Baltimore Ravens in the early game, and 57.6 million viewers saw an overtime thriller between the San Francisco 49ers and the victorious New York Football Giants. In related news, I packed four pounds of veggie-sausage queso dip into my arteries yesterday. [Deadline Hollywood]

... American Idol capitalized on its big evening audience with a special broadcast of the singing show and grabbed 19.8 million viewers and a 7.9 rating. But that wasn't enough for Fox. Because the 49ers/Giants game went into overtime, the Idol airing was delayed. Because of the scheduling jumble and widespread DVR recording mistakes, Fox is re-broadcasting the episode on Tuesday night in place of a previously scheduled Glee repeat. Now you can watch Jim Carrey's daughter do just enough to get a golden ticket all over again. [Deadline Hollywood]

... CMT has renewed The Singing Bee for Season 4. Yay? [Deadline Hollywood]

... NBC has added yet another round of pilots to its already very full list. Chicago Fire is... oh come on, you can figure it out. And County is a medical drama set in a Los Angeles hospital. The latter is of special note because The Event's Jason Ritter is signed on to star. I miss The Event so much, you guys. [Deadline Hollywood]

... 30 Rock's Tracy Morgan collapsed while attending the Sundance Film Festival and had to be rushed to a local hospital. Now before you say something like he was drunk or on drugs, here's the truth: He was suffering from altitude sickness. He's since been released and won't miss any significant time on 30 Rock. [TMZ]

... Kevin Federline fell down and suffered chest pains while filming a reality weight-loss show in Australia. It's the second time Federline has been hospitalized while filming the show. Dude, maybe your body is trying to tell you something. [Radar Online]

... Super-amazing-perfect-couple-who-will-never-get-divorced Heidi Klum and Seal are getting divorced. The Project Runway host and Grammy-winning singer have been married for seven years and have four kids. I'm not saying I had anything to do with it, but... okay, I had nothing to do with it. ☹ [People]

It's hilarious that people still treat Summer Glau like she's actually a star and has talent. Or in the adverse, that her looks somehow excuse her lack of talent. Oh, kids... Someday they'll learn. Until then, the rest of us has to suffer through her gasping, desperate attempts to remain relevant.

  • filmstu2005 Jan 29, 2012

Wait wait just a stinkin' minute. Did you really just imPLY that SUmmer Glau ISN'T talented? Are you kidding? What desperate attempts has she made to remain relevant? Please, show us the evidence for this wild accusation. She's no different than any other under-the-radar actor or actress trying to find decent work. She doesn't overexpose herself or act out drastically in public for recognition. Have you seen any of her work (4400? Dollhouse? Firefly/Serenity)? She has a pretty lengthy portfolio and knows how to put an eccentric sense of humanity in her characters. So really, save the harsh criticism for someone who actually CAN'T act. You know, someone like yourself.

I'm bored to read the same comments from online bloggers about Summer Glau; thats very cheap that they are spamming this "fanboys dream girl" thing all the time( are the fangirls invisible or what) . Still they are all supportive so I won't complain that much.

At least M. Tim Surette has the merit to write that she's an angel among us; yet it doesn't surprise me since he has always been so supportive in his previous articles.

I bet he'll be the first to stalk GA's set to have a lock of Summer's hair.

Summer glau will do an awesome job like always. She's a great actress, its a shame the shows shes been on has suffered from insufficient ratings and therefore have been cancelled. Its a shame she gets the label of show killer because her work has been excellent. Summer you deserve your own show i hope you get it soon.

  • robinh4 Jan 25, 2012

Does that mean Jason Ritter's leaving Parenthood? I hope not.

  • fweak Jan 25, 2012

Sorry, but even Summer isn't enough to get me to watch Grey's Anatomy.

  • Dan815 Jan 25, 2012

cool have fun missin out loser ; )

i'll keep watching the show filled with mass murderer hospital shootings and all that other "girly" stuff your pea sized brain thinks greys is about XD

get a clue and actually watch a show first genius, its sure as hell a thousand times better than awful house.

    youre welcome X )

Summer Glau is a true goddess and I think she is an amazing actress. She was the reason I saw 'Alphas' which is a very good show. All her genre shows are in my fav list!

To all the haters and the supposed 'curse':

She isn't cursed! How I wish people would stop with this BS. Do some research and you'll find almost EVERY actor has cancelled shows on their resume.

Alphas got a second season after she guest starred on it. Chuck isn't getting cancelled. It's getting a proper finish. Also, Dollhouse was already cancelled before she signed on. And people leave out The Unit, which went on for a few seasons after she had her stint on the show. Also The 4400, that one went for a few seasons too. Not to mention CSI and Cold Case, that one went for a lot of additional seasons after her ep. And Big Bang Theory is still going strong.

Am I the only person who can't stand Summer Glau?

  • Faithin1 Jan 25, 2012

  • hockey9927 Jan 25, 2012

No you are not. She is also the harbinger of death for most of the shows she appears on.

  • tvfanboy Jan 25, 2012

    Yes you are.

  • rye06p Jan 25, 2012

I guess opinion on her is split pretty even.

  • eggbert63 Jan 24, 2012

Summer Glau. The kiss of death.

  • kanniballl Jan 24, 2012

My only complaint is (I guess) Summer keeps choosing really weird roles: crazy people, emotionless robots, etc. I've only seen her character(s) act "normal" a handful of times.

Did she get typecast due to Firefly or something? Does she just choose roles with odd personalities for the challenge? Was she a psych-major and decided to apply her knowledge into the roles?

Lovely and talented, but she just gets a lot of weird roles.

  • KevinG87 Jan 24, 2012

love Summer Glau, but i don't want her to be on Grey's Anatomy. she needs to find a show that's actually good for once, because there hasn't been one since Firefly (Dollhouse and The 4400 don't count since she was just guest star really).

  • Faithin1 Jan 25, 2012

She's just going to be a guest on Grey's. Although I don't want to watch it, I will just to watch her.
