Your car is an extension of yourself -- whether it's a sexy Lamborghini or dented van filled with fast food wrappers. Some of the most famous characters on TV would be naked without their cars: The A-Team would be lost without their high-tech gear and not-so-stealthily painted GMC van. Here are ten of the coolest cars on TV.

10. Starsky and Hutch: 1974 Gran Torino

This baby wasn't a hunk of junk, as Hutch would have you believe. It was Starsky's prized possession -- and it got the duo where they needed to go.

9. The Partridge Family: 1950s Chevrolet bus

The Partridge Family's bus: a sensible option for hauling all those kids around and encouraging merry music-making.

8. The A-Team: 1983 GMC G-Series

Remember the A-Team's sweet black van, complete with a fiery red stripe? Badass.

7. The Flintstones

The theme song said it all: Let's ride with the family down the street, through the courtesy of Fred's two feet! Ah, when wheels were new.

What do you get when you add a hot chick and a hotter car? The Dukes of Hazzard circa 1969.

Everything about this car screams "style."

4. Supernatural: 1967 Impala

What's better for fighting demons than a retro 60s Impala?

3. Herbie the Love Bug: 1960s VW Bug

Herbie had the body of a VW Bug, but the soul -- I mean, engine -- of a Porsche.

2. Knight Rider: 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

It's a bird! It's a plane! Nope, it's Knight Rider. That car can fly!

1. Batman (1966-1968): 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car

This version of the Batmobile was so cool, the car’s designers made a few for themselves. The Batmobile beats James Bond's wheels any day.

  • gracielove Nov 12, 2012

Yea. I remember that car. Not a bad show either.

What about the Charger on Burn Notice?

  • 793tango Jan 26, 2012

I think the 'Striped Tomato' should rank a little higher and question whether the Flintstones car should even be on the list since it really isn't a 'car'.

How about the Munster Mobile from The Munsters? THAT didn't make the list?

I forgot about the Corvette from Corvette Summer. Sorry I know it's a movie car but it's a bad car and most people don't know anything about it. How about the 67 Stingray Corvette from the show Equalizer?

What about the Fall Guy? How about the Mustang II in Charlies Angels? If your going to talk movies then it has to be the Bandit 77 TA.

Yeah, better have the Impala on this one....lol

I agree that "Herbie" belongs on a movie list, not this one.I also don't think the Batmobile should be as high as it is. The Mystery Machine ought to be in the top 10, too.
So, no love for Sid and Marty Kroft's Wonderbug, eh?

hey! What about Nash Bridges' car?!

  • ganthonystx Nov 04, 2009

Jim Rockford's Pontiac Firebird...we even came up with the verb "to Rockfordize" - stomping on the gas when turning a corner!

I had the strangest dream once, and this feature brings it to mind...I dreamed I saw Starsky and Hutch's Gran Torino on the north side of Minneapolis all stripped down and eaten up with rust and propped up with jack-lifters, with a bumper sticker that said; "Prevent birth defects, ban country music" on it's corroded rear bumper. God knows, I've seen enough cars of that make and vintage in that condition for real. Ahhh...the 70's!
