SBS to kick-off nightly World Cup show
With the FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa coming soon to SBS, the excitement is building.
The three will be hosting a live nightly show for sports fans across the entire tournament. And yes, that's including weekends. Talk about enthusiasm.
Beaming from the Cup Situation Room (the Blattersphere) at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) at Melbourne's Federation Square, the three will be reviewing the games in front of a studio audience.
Santo, Sam and Ed's Cup Fever! will also feature pre-recorded clips, guest interviews, surprise cameos, and crossing for regular reports from Tony Wilson in South Africa.
The boys promise "well-informed discussion, ill-informed analysis and heated debate that might just end in fisticuffs or someone letting off a flare".
For Cilauro, who is a renowned football fanatic, it is surely a dream job. TV Burp's Ed Kavalee will also be back on screens having some fun, while Sam Pang has a jam-packed schedule, heading off to Oslo for the Eurovision Song Contest and then turning his attention to the World Cup.
Interestingly, this will be the first show produced by Working Dog for SBS Television. It has previously produced The Panel, Thank God You're Here, Frontline, Funky Squad and The Hollowmen for TEN, Seven and the ABC.
The show will air on SBS ONE nightly at 8.30pm from June 11 - 21 and shifts to 10pm from June 22 - 30. Once we hit the finals it will air at 8:30pm on July 3, 4, 7, 8, 10 and 11.
It will also be repeated every night on SBS TWO at 11pm and be available at www.sbs.com.au/cupfever.
SBS will be screening all the World Cup games live to air on SBS ONE and SBS TWO beginning on June 11, with "Mr Football" Les Murray on the ground in South Africa heading up SBS commentary.
