Season Five, Volume One

Description by Colin Mahan

It's Andromeda, the science-fiction adventure series envisioned in the mind's eye of Gene Roddenberry, creator of the classic space franchise Star Trek.

Captain Dylan Hunt--aka Kevin Sorbo, aka Hercules--wakes up after 300 years from a deep, restful cryosleep aboard the damaged Commonwealth warship, Andromeda. Before he's even had his coffee, he makes a dark discovery: The space yogurt has definitely spoiled! What's more, the bad guys, aka the Nietzscheans, have destroyed the Commonwealth and have taken over the galaxy! Now, Hunt assembles a ragtag band of unlikely heroes: a few helpful aliens, space mercenaries, and some guy with spiky, blond hair. Aboard the Andromeda, Hunt launches a battle to destroy the Nietzscheans to return democracy to space!

This, the fifth season, is the most spectacular, as Hunt and his freedom fighters attempt to keep the Commonwealth from fracturing while beating back the Nietzscheans. Excellent special effects and explosive stories of heroism will have you saying to yourself, "How have I never watched this show even once?"

This two-disc box set includes five episodes from season five and features a "Meet the Cast" short with Kevin Sorbo; a behind-the-scenes featurette with director of photography Gordon Verheul; a behind-the-scenes featurette with executive producer Bob Engels; and the featurette "Visual Effects: From Concept to Completion." You'll also find bloopers, an image gallery, Andromeda TV promos, and ADV previews.
