The Golden Globes are Gaga for Glee

The 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards won't be handed out until January 16, but a list of the TV people who can begin clearing out their trophy case to make make room for potential new hardware was released today. Glee led all TV shows with five nominations—four acting award nominations and one for Best Comedy or Musical. It received a nomination in every single category it was eligible for. Lost fans, avert your eyes. Not a single nomination for the sci-fi drama that said goodbye this year.

Here are the Golden Globe nominations in the television categories for 2011:

Best Drama
Boardwalk Empire
Dexter
The Good Wife
Mad Men (last year's winner)
The Walking Dead

And here we go, the first major nomination for The Walking Dead. It will be interesting to see whether The Emmys follow suit, but I'm not sure they will. Looks like zombies have replaced vampires, as this is the first time True Blood did not receive a nomination. What other notable shows are missing from this list? Lost, Breaking Bad, and House.

Best Comedy or Musical
30 Rock
The Big Bang Theory
The Big C
Glee (last year's winner)
Modern Family
Nurse Jackie

No big surprises here. But thank the lord someone finally had the sense not to put Entourage in there. What's missing? The Office, Weeds, Community.

Best Actor - Drama
Steve Buscemi, Boardwalk Empire
Bryan Cranston, Breaking Bad
Michael C. Hall, Dexter (last year's winner)
Jon Hamm, Mad Men
Hugh Laurie, House

Buscemi, despite someone's insistence that he was miscast on Boardwalk Empire, joins an elite group of mainstays.

Best Actress - Drama
Julianna Margulies, The Good Wife (last year's winner)
Elisabeth Moss, Mad Men
Piper Perabo, Covert Affairs
Katey Sagal, Sons of Anarchy
Kyra Sedgwick, The Closer

Sagal gets a much-deserved nomination for Sons of Anarchy, and Perabo earns a surprise nomination. Does no Glenn Close-for-Damages nomination mean other awards shows will follow suit?

Best Actor - Comedy or Musical
Alec Baldwin, 30 Rock (last year's winner)
Steve Carell, The Office
Thomas Jane, Hung
Matthew Morrison, Glee
Jim Parsons, The Big Bang Theory

Jim Parsons finally gets some recognition from the Globes, a few years too late. The odd man out? Californication's David Duchovny.

Best Actress - Comedy or Musical
Toni Collette, United States of Tara (last year's winner)
Edie Falco, Nurse Jackie
Tina Fey, 30 Rock
Laura Linney, The Big C
Lea Michele, Glee

Not much has changed here, except for Linney replacing Courteney Cox since last year's ballot. Who's missing? Amy Poehler for Parks and Recreation.

Best Supporting Actress in a Series or Miniseries
Hope Davis, The Special Relationship
Jane Lynch, Glee
Kelly Macdonald, Boardwalk Empire
Julia Stiles, Dexter
Sofia Vergara, Modern Family

Best Supporting Actor in a Series or Miniseries
Scott Caan, Hawaii Five-0
Chris Colfer, Glee
Chris Noth, The Good Wife
Eric Stonestreet, Modern Family
David Strathairn, Temple Grandin

Supporting actors and actresses get no respect, as they're all tied in together. There's a laundry list of worthy candidates who didn't get recognized, but with so few spaces to fill, that's unavoidable. Last year's winners: John Lithgow for Dexter and Chloe Sevigny for Big Love.

For a full list of nominations, head over to the official Golden Globes Awards Web site.

Did your favorite actors and shows get nominated? Who do you think got snubbed?

Oh, I hope Katey Segal wins her category! She's been amazing in SoA this year! Even though I like the good wife, I belive it is harder to portray Gemma Teller than Alicia Florrick..

I think Jane Adams deserves a nomination for "Hung" and David Duchovny for "Californication".
