The Walking Dead's New Trailer: Things Are Still Sucky (VIDEO)

By Tim Surette

When The Walking Dead returns on February 10 for the second half of Season 3, I have it on good authority that things will pretty much remain very bad for Rick Grimes and his fellow inmates in Cell Block C. As a professional television watcher, it is my expert opinion that there will be more struggling to survive, possibly some intense fighting, a good chance that crazy people will do crazy things, and I also have a hunch there will be zombies. When you've spent the last several years carefully examining television, these are the theories you come up with.

Also, I saw this trailer:

Yes, really crappy times will remain the norm in the zombiefied South, as The Governor implements his eye-for-a-whole-bunch-of-other-people's-eyes edict and goes after Rick and his party. Along the way, Merle upsets Daryl's ridiculously obsessed fanbase with a knuckle sammy to his brother's face, Andrea still can't keep her clothes on around The Governor, and all of a sudden assault rifles are the weapon of choice. Can't wait!

The Walking Dead returns Sunday, February 10 at 9pm on AMC.

I'm really hoping Andrea comes to her senses soon. If she doesn't she will probably die before season 4.

Nice!! This is comin back sooner than I thought...something to hold us over till GOT season 3--which is gonna be EPIC!!!!!

  • VConn Jan 23, 2013

Gee what a shock Andrea is STILL a two faced treacherous leech of a w**** - If the writers can't think of anything better for her character (And they clearly can't) Why not just kill the b**** and do us all a favour. and to make it worse EVERYONE will likely believe she's still on their side, right up to the point where she gets them killed.

You're not even trying to look at it from her perspective are you?
As far as she knows, she was attacked for a zombie and they left her to die. Would you show any loyalty to people like that?
Now what she did to Michonne was irredeemable.

  • prowly Jan 27, 2013

Her perspective is that they left her to die? That's totally unreasonable, given the circumstances. You seem to be forgetting that they also saved her butt on numerous occasions. With the farm overrun, it was simply impossible to go back. Otherwise, the Greenes probably would have tried to go back home.

If she thinks they left her to die, that's just another reason to hate her.

  • Sw33tEscape Jan 28, 2013

They did leave her to die though and justified it by saying "there's no way she could have made it."

  • prowly Jan 28, 2013

There is a difference between being left to die and being left for dead. In order to leave someone to die, you have to be aware of the person's status (alive) and location, and choose to leave said person, knowing that doing so will result in the person's death. By your own admission, the group did not know of her status (though to T-Dog, it looked like she'd gone down), and Carol admitted to losing track of her in the chaos. Thus, neither of the prerequisites for the condition were met.

Additionally, you speak as though, they made a decision to leave her. You may recall that they were all separated when they left the farm, not knowing who had made it out? T-Dog was with Lori and Beth, Glenn was with Maggie, Daryl saved Carol, and Rick got Hershel and Carl. Hershel and Rick had given up hope on anyone else making it out alive when the rest of the survivors showed up.

tl;dr version: You are *wrong*, ma'am.

You gotta admire the writers' ability to turn one of the best characters in the book into one of the most reviled ones in the series.

If she hasn't surpassed Lori at this point, I have no respect left for my fellow viewers.

  • layton2012 Jan 23, 2013

I swear to god if she betrays the prizon group, there will be no redeeming her character, and I have been one of the few Andrea apologists through the first half of season 3.

K, I'm often on your back for lame humor and how it interferes with giving a good thought out review.
    But this:
"As a professional television watcher, it is my expert opinion that there will be more struggling to survive, possibly some intense fighting, a good chance that crazy people will do crazy things, and I also have a hunch there will be zombies. When you've spent the last several years carefully examining television, these are the theories you come up with. "

    ....was funny! Credit when due!

  • layton2012 Jan 23, 2013

Why can't it be February yet!

  • crozbee120 Jan 23, 2013

    SO Can't wait.

  • simonadarni Jan 22, 2013

I also have a blog that talks about this TV series http://www.thewalkingdeadita.it

  • Big_Pecks Jan 22, 2013

Can't wait to see more of Rick-Michonne. I hope the dynamic is good.

  • rocklobstaah Jan 22, 2013

Bet they have something like "TWD Showrunner of the month" at the AMC office.

  • lalaforever1989 Jan 22, 2013

It would be nice if alot of you quacks would stop whining about stuff not being exactly the same as in the comics. If they did make everything similar you'd be on here bitching about that too.

  • tvgirl17 Jan 23, 2013

Also, if it were exactly the same as the books, something else I hate would happen - plot holes being dismissed as "if you read the book, you would know the answer!" When people question plot/character details in movie adaptations, they're often met with the book fans saying it's perfectly clear in the book. Well duh. Adaptations should stand alone.

  • OdumC Jan 22, 2013

Yeah I read all the books/play all the games/watch every episode and sorry but if it was just a clone of the comics there really wouldn't be much of a point to it. I love it more BECAUSE I don't already know what's going to happen, it's a new story from this beloved universe where I don't already know the outcome. If you're watching this just to see the story from the comics, go read the comics.

  • Mantis82 Jan 22, 2013

Agreed, I'm a huge fan of WD comics, and I say just watch it for fun and be happy they brought something you love to television. An attempt to be even similar to the comics makes me happy, but people are too cynical

  • headclub Jan 23, 2013

Same thing w/ GOT... Of course the books are much better, but I'm still sooo happy they made it into a tv show!
