What to watch on Wednesday, April 30...

8pm, The CW
With Deathstroke’s attacks on both Oliver and Starling City intensifying, the Emerald Archer decides that surrendering is the only way to stem the violent tide. Meanwhile in “City of Blood,” Thea ponders getting out of Dodge and Laurel gears up for another round against Sebastian Blood.

8pm, ABC Family
Melissa & Joey
Mel’s doctor (and former TV aunt Beth Broderick) drops a bombshell in “Accidents Will Happen,” and if you’ve ever seen a sitcom before you probably don’t need three guesses to figure out what it is. While she mulls sharing the news with a preoccupied Joe, Ryder assembles an eclectic study group.

8pm, ABC
The Middle
Sue channels her energy into earning a college scholarship in “The Optimist,” while Frankie channels hers into covering for a mistake that put a dent in Dr. Goodwin’s business. At home, Brick demands that Mike make up for losing his temper on someone, and Axl and Hutch empty the Heck pantry in an effort to bulk up for football.

8:30pm, ABC
After going 0-for-1 on her college applications—with the bad news delivered by admissions officer played by Tig Notaro—Dalia turns to plan B: snaring a sugar daddy. Elsewhere in “Dalia Nicole Smith,” George ropes Tessa into joining him on a double date with a single mom and her son.

9pm, CBS
Criminal Minds
“Fatal” finds the team pursuing a killer who’s obsessed with Greek mythology. Not to tell them how to do their jobs, but they may want to start with that fellow who's carrying the papier-mâché Gorgon head and riding the hobby horse with wings taped onto it.

9pm, NBC
Law & Order: SVU
Benson moves from one nightmare to another when she’s arrested in the wake of William Lewis’s demise in “Post-Mortem Blues.” After this, maybe the writers will pour sugar in her gas tank and erase her most highly leveled World of Warcraft character too, just for good measure.

9pm, ABC
Modern Family
After flubbing his assignment from Claire to stay home and wait for a repairman, Phil concocts an elaborate cover story but quickly buckles under the pressure of the charade. Meanwhile in “Sleeper,” Gloria organizes a family portrait, Jay surreptitiously enters Stella in a dog show, and Claire knocks Cam for turning up his nose at the Dunphy girls’ hand-me-downs.

9pm, The CW
The 100
In “Contents Under Pressure,” Clarke and Raven get in touch with the Ark, allowing Abby to lead Clarke through a risky but vital procedure. That should temporarily distract her from the bummer of losing her council seat to former Chancellor Diana Sydney (Kate Vernon).

10pm, FX
The Americans
The Jennings face the reemergence of an old enemy in “Yousaf,” even while they enlist Annelise’s help on a new mission with global ramifications. At the FBI, Stan unearths a potentially lucrative clue.

10pm, NBC
Chicago P.D.
Now that Chicago Fire went and blew up a hospital last night, it’s up to the Intelligence Unit to nail the culprits in “8:30 PM.” As the investigation unfolds, and as Burgess waits for word of her niece’s condition, the team realizes that Chicago Medical may not be the bombers’ only target.

10pm, ABC
Rayna and Juliette both field blame in the wake of Scarlett’s breakdown, while Avery tends to her recuperation in “Your Good Girl’s Gonna Go Bad.” In other showbiz shenanigans, Layla lines up a reality show and hopes to sway Will into co-starring.

10pm, FXX
With Steve’s daughter in town in “Weekend”—and with Steve reacting to news about his ex-wife, shall we say, poorly—Steve is pressed into adult supervision duty.

10pm, TV Land
Hot in Cleveland
In “Rusty Banks Rides Again,” Melanie is assigned to a teen idol played by Jason Priestley, in case you needed another reminder that it is perennially 1994 on TV Land. Meanwhile, Victoria guns for an Academy Award nod, Elka gets back together with Roy, and Joy works with an indie ingenue played by Sarah Hyland.

10pm, CBS
An agent from the Cyber Crime Division (Patricia Arquette) lends her expertise when the team probes the killing of a casino owner’s wife in “Kitty.” A Cyber Crime Division with an established TV star at its center, eh? Why, I wonder if they’ll tackle some interesting case or another each week, for 22 weeks out of the year or so, starting sometime this fall?

10:30pm, Comedy Central
“Ahhh, Serenity” features a child’s whimsical trip through Paris in a magical wheelchair, a boy courting his crush with the help of Dick Genie, and the triumphant return of Freddy Krueger.

Can't wait for next week to see the finale of Arrow. Woohoo! Tonight was crazy. Criminal Minds was awesome. Looking to see how that ends too. I wasn't planning on watching CSI but then I saw Patricia Arquette was on it and I was intrigued. Pretty good episode. The other shows I can't wait to watch are Hawaii Five-0 and Grimm. This is going to be great.
