What to watch on Friday, July 11...

SEASON 2 PREMIERE, 12am Pacific, Netflix
Hemlock Grove
As the second season of Netflix’s other original series (no, the other one) begins, the town is devastated by a recent bloodbath. All 10 episodes drop today.

8pm & 8:30pm, Nickelodeon
The Legend of Korra
“In Harm’s Way” finds Korra taking action to free the Earth Queen’s airbender conscripts. Then in “The Metal Clan,” Team Avatar visits the metal city of Zaofu, presumably to the strains of Black Sabbath.

8:30pm, Disney
Girl Meets World
A homework assignment forces Riley and Lucas to interact in person, rather than via texting, in “Girl Meets Boy.” Granted, that will make it more difficult for them to pass one another pictures of eggplants and tiny ninja faces and whatnot, but not impossible.

8:55pm, Disney
Mickey Mouse
There’s more than meets the eye to Mickey’s elderly houseguest in “Goofy’s Grandma.” I’m not saying she’s definitely a spy for the KGB, but she does seem to have an awful lot of wigs, so you do the math.

10pm, NBC
At press time, NBC hadn't supplied any sort of summary for "The Return." So I'll defer to resident Crossbones expert Ryan Sandoval, who guesses that this week, "The Commodore comes to an unexpected crossroads and must make a difficult yet sensual decision." And who among us cannot relate to that?

The Almighty Johnsons
Upon turning 21, a student discovers that he and his family are the reincarnations of Norse gods in this New Zealand import. “It’s a Kind of Birthday Present” kicks off the mythological mischief with youngest brother Axl learning that he himself is Odin reborn.

– Liev Schrieber, Rob Reiner, and Gabriel Iglesias on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, 11:35pm, NBC

What to watch on Saturday, July 12...

8pm & 8:30pm, CBS
Bad Teacher
In “Nix the Fat Week,” Meredith has her eye on the vegan chef who visits during the school’s health week. Then “Life Science” finds Meredith rigging the student science fair in hopes of winning the teachers’ secret betting pool.

9pm, Starz
“I Gotta Go” finds Tasha poking her head into club business and Tommy taking a different sort of interest in a club employee. Meanwhile, things between Ghost and Angela kick up a notch.

10pm, BBC America
Almost Royal
In the Motor City, Georgie and Poppy try their hands at automobile repair and rap battles.

What to watch on Sunday, July 13...

8pm, PBS
Last Tango in Halifax
Gillian is clobbered on two fronts as Alan widens the rift between them and Celia accidentally spills a long-held secret. In other interpersonal tension, Lawrence has a rough time accepting Kate’s new relationship.

SEASON 2 PREMIERE, 9pm, Showtime
Ray Donovan
With Mickey comfortably ensconced in Mexico, the Feds demand that Ray haul his felonious father back across the border in “Yo Soy Capitan.”

9pm, HBO
True Blood
In the wake of the latest carnage, Sookie forms a posse of humans and vampires to hunt H-Vamps while Jason and Sam must deliver the bad news, everyone. Elsewhere in “Death Is Not the End,” Bill and Jessica stumble upon a surprising source of nourishment, and Pam recollects the chain of events that brought her and Eric to Fangtasia.

9pm, BBC America
The Musketeers
In “The Good Soldier,” the Musketeers are wrong-footed by the sudden return of a former comrade. He has a bone to pick with the Duke of Savoy—the very nabob the team has been tasked with protecting.

The Strain
A CDC team combats a malevolent virus that threatens to vampire-ify New York City—and then the world—in this thriller from co-creator Guillermo del Toro and showrunner Carlton Cuse. “Night Zero” kicks off the macabre mayhem with the discovery of a plane full of dead passengers.

SEASON 2 PREMIERE, 10pm, Showtime
Masters of Sex
In “Parallax,” Masters reels from his fiasco of a presentation and subsequent firing. But the fallout lands even harder on Virginia, who’s believed to be the star of her partner’s explicit film.

SEASON 1 FINALE, 10pm, WGN America
Mary’s biggest secret comes to light in “All Fall Down,” and if I recall my history properly, this is the moment when Alden invents the record-scratch sound effect.

SEASON 2 FINALE, 10pm, Lifetime
Devious Maids
“Look Back in Anger,” I heard the season finale of Devious Maids say, as Nick fesses up to Marisol while Zoila receives stunning news of her own. Meanwhile, Carmen meets a dashing gentleman, Valentina is offered a huge break, and Spence and Rosie agree to get hitched.

10pm, AMC
Halt and Catch Fire
Gordon strains under the weight of his workload in “Giant,” while Joe’s bond with Cameron is tested by the return of someone from his past.

10pm, TNT
Falling Skies
The 2nd Mass takes shelter in a Volm hideout in “Evolve or Die,” and the two factions immediately clash over which series to marathon on Netflix while they’re cooped up together. Elsewhere, Tom joins Weaver and Cochise to track down Matt.

10pm, HBO
The Leftovers
Roiled by setbacks both spiritual and financial—not to mention a death threat or two—Rev. Jamison takes desperate measures to keep his church afloat in “Two Boats and a Helicopter.” Maybe he can hit up that potato salad kid for Kickstarter pointers?

10:30pm, PBS
Freddie recommends that a wayward Ash giving acting a try, but winds up regretting it when the newbie immediately books a gig. Meanwhile, Violet consults Freddie and Stuart for romantic advice.

And now, let’s all vote to crown the What to Watch Tonight Episode Title of the Week!
