What to watch on Monday, May 26...

MARATHON, 10am, TNT
Falling Skies
Catch up on all 10 episodes of Season 3 ahead of next month’s Season 4 premiere. Or don’t. I mean, it’s May, the weather’s probably pretty nice where you are. If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, anyway. Look, I can’t make your decisions for you.

SEASON 5 PREMIERE, 8pm, Fox
MasterChef
Judges Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich, and Graham Elliot greet 30 hopeful home cooks, each of whom will serve up their signature dish to kick-off the season. A cookbook deal and a quarter-million-dollar prize await this year’s winner.

SEASON 6 PREMIERE, 8pm & 9pm, NBC
American Ninja Warrior
“Countdown to Ninja Warrior 2014” previews the new season by recapping highlights from previous ones. Then the first qualifying round from Venice Beach, CA, pits contestants against a host of obstacle courses in search of America’s Greatest Ninja (Non-Turtle Division).

8pm, Showtime
Years of Living Dangerously
“Revolt, Rebuild, Renew” finds Jessica Alba extolling the corporate virtues of sustainability programs, Chris Hayes chronicling tales of life after Superstorm Sandy, and Thomas Friedman applying his full Thomas-Friedmaniness to the global wheat market.

8:30pm, CBS
Friends With Better Lives
Andi works to boost her and Bobby’s popularity among their neighbors, including Horatio Sanz, in “No More Mr. Nice Guy.” Meanwhile, Jules and Lowell agree to fix Kate up, despite considering her impossibly resistant to such endeavors.

MOVIE PREMIERE, 9pm, Reelz
Bomb Girls: Facing the Enemy
In this coda to the recently canceled series, Victory Munitions takes over production of sonar equipment that's vital to the Allies’ chances of winning the Battle of the Atlantic. But with new responsibility comes new dangers—in the form of a Nazi saboteur whom one employee must track down.

MOVIE PREMIERE, 9pm, Lifetime
Petals on the Wind
The Dollanganger kids (Rose McIver, Wyatt Nash, and Bailey Buntain) resume their wacky misadventures in this sequel to January’s Flowers in the Attic, set 10 years after the events of the first film. Try as they might to escape their traumatic past, the siblings are irrevocably drawn back to confront their mother and grandmother.

MINISERIES PREMIERE, 9pm, History
The World Wars
The cataclysms of World War I and World War II are examined in this three-part, six-hour documentary narrated by Jeremy Renner. “Trial by Fire” kicks things off with the fateful assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo in June 1914. Part 2 and Part 3 air tomorrow and Wednesday, respectively.

9pm, Fox
24: Live Another Day
“Jack deals with unforeseen circumstances,” declares the logline for “Day 9: 3:00 PM–4:00 PM,” and also the logline for pretty much every episode of 24 ever. On the terrorist front, Margot Al-Harazi reveals her vengeful demands.

9pm, PBS
American Experience
“Death and the Civil War” examines the stark toll taken on America by that conflict’s enormous casualties. Historians and other experts discuss how the nation grappled with the unprecedented scale of death, an estimated 750,000 people in less than five years.

10pm & 10:30pm, FX
Louie
The “Elevator” saga rolls on with Part 4 and Part 5. First Louie and Janet consult professional help. Then Louie and Amia strike a bond.

10:30pm, Cartoon Network
The Boondocks
Huey grows suspicious when Granddad’s newest paramour lands him on a reality show in “Granddad Dates a Kardashian.” And rightly so, Huey. Rightly so.

LATE-NITE:
– Iggy Azalea on Chelsea Lately, 11pm, E!
– Shailene Woodley, Dan Boulger, and Wild Child on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, 12:37am, CBS

    Seriously. Fuck those autoplaying videos.

  • Sanity_Bleeds May 27, 2014

I support your opposition of the autoplaying, but not the videos themselves.

  • jerky_666 May 27, 2014

The thing that really gets me is I'm pretty sure it's not intentional, but rather just base-level incompetence on the part of the full-fledged droolers that run this site.
