What to Watch Tonight: Hell's Kitchen, Comedy Bang! Bang!, and the Series Premiere of Bill Lawrence's Undateable
What to watch on Thursday, May 29...
The Red and Blue teams are scrambled up, like so many…. um… there’s some kind of meal that involves scrambling, right? Dammit, I had something for this. Anyway, the 10 newly realigned chefs must each select ingredients sight unseen and then turn them into a dish. Later, the contestants serve a meal for UNICEF representatives, including Angie Harmon.
Hollywood Game Night
“Off With the Top of Your Head” may be a bit of a painful episode title for former TV spouses Malin Akerman and Bradley Whitford, since their show just got axed after some lousy scheduling. Fellow contestants Nate Berkus, Adam DeVine, Tony Hale, and Arsenio Hall are all pitching in for a consolatory fruit basket.
SERIES PREMIERE, 9pm & 9:30pm, NBC
In this latest entry in the Bill Lawrence sitcom stable, Chris D’Elia (Whitney) stars as Danny, a confident dude who takes a gaggle of socially awkward misfits under his wing. In the pilot, Danny meets his less self-assured new roommate Justin and Justin’s equally kooky friends. Then in “Pants Buddies,” Danny intercedes in Justin’s potential courtship while the gang begins to wonder about their new mentor’s motives.
“Sangre Por Sangre” sends Ryan after the rival gang members who shot Carlos, hoping to avert both a gang war and the discovery of his own involvement. Off the beat, Ryan begins to take a genuine shine to Jessica.
Enticed by the reward for staff volunteers—a free dose of Botox—Meredith joins Ginny’s extracurricular pursuit in “Yearbook.” But can they meet their imminent deadline after Ginny is waylaid by romantic woes?
The return of their father prompts very different recollections of the past from Catherine and Joshua in “Forget Me.” On the job, one patient grapples with a debilitating war injury while another deals with strange visions after plummeting off a mountain—and TV.com has obtained this exclusive clip of that harrowing ordeal.
When Marc’s mother picks a bad time to visit in “The Mom Situation,” Marc arranges for a friend’s dad to keep her company instead. And keep her company he does, if you get my drift. Eh? Ehhhhhhhhhh?
Comedy Bang! Bang!
Scott and guest Fred Armisen are vying for the chance to host a late-night talk show. No matter which of them scores it, I assume additional guests Adam Pally, Stephanie Courtney, David Alan Grier, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Aimee Mann, and Fred Willard are all hoping to land cushy sidekick duties.
