What to watch on Wednesday, May 21...

SERIES FINALE, 8pm, NBC
Revolution
In “Declaration of Independence,” Miles, Charlie, and Monroe hope to put the brakes on a war between California and Texas, even as the trio prepare their own assault on the Patriots. Elsewhere, a vengeance-minded Neville guns for President Davis while Aaron and Rachel work to rescue Priscilla.

SEASON 13 FINALE, 8pm, Fox
American Idol
The winner is selected and the top finalists return for one last performance.

SEASON 28 FINALE, 8pm, CBS
Survivor
After the four remaining castaways are pared down to three, the jury picks the winner. That’s followed, as usual, by the live reunion show at 10pm.

SEASON 5 FINALE, 8pm, ABC
The Middle
The Hecks take advantage of the fringe benefit afforded to all ABC sitcom families sooner or later: a trip to a Walt Disney Company amusement park and lodging concern! “Orlando” and “The Wonderful World of Hecks” sends the clan to Walt Disney World, where many shenanigans, hijinks, and synergistic cross-promotion opportunities await.

8pm, PBS
Nature
“The Gathering Swarms” examines species that assemble in massive numbers, including bats, ants, bees, wild parakeets, and monarch butterflies. Also explored: the heightened collective intelligence that often accompanies these large groups, a phenomenon also known as "the exact opposite of the internet."

SEASON 5 FINALE, 9pm, ABC
Modern Family
The matrimonial mishaps roll on in “The Wedding, Part 2,” dampening Mitch and Cam’s spirits and running Claire ragged. Fortunately, the wedding package they ordered comes with a sappy montage/voiceover about family, so that should brighten things up.

9pm, The CW
The 100
“I Am Become Death” finds Murphy returning to camp with tales of horrors suffered at the hands of the Grounders. While Clarke and Bellamy debate how to receive their ravaged comrade, Octavia slips away in search of Lincoln, and Jasper dons his hero hair.

SEASON 15 FINALE, 9pm, NBC
Law & Order: SVU
Munch returns to offer wise counsel to Amaro, who’s yet again in Internal Affairs’ crosshairs. Meanwhile in “Spring Awakening,” Benson is linked to a suspect in a string of rapes and robberies stemming from an online scam.

SEASON 1 FINALE, 10pm, NBC
Chicago P.D.
Things are looking up for Atwater, who's acclimating to his new intelligence gig, and down for Antonio, who's mired in desk duty. Elsewhere in “A Beautiful Friendship,” Lindsay is forced to seek Voight’s help out of her jam, and Jin spills the truth about his meetings with Stillwell.

SEASON 2 FINALE, 10pm, FX
The Americans
With multiple threats closer than ever, Philip and Elizabeth scramble to get Paige and Henry to safety in “Echo.” Meanwhile, Stan must determine how far he’s willing to go to keep Nina out of the line of fire.

SEASON 2 PREMIERE, 10pm, ABC
Motive
Detectives Flynn and Vega suspect an apparent suicide may be murder in “Raw Deal.” At Metro PD, the roguish new commander is a former undercover cop with ties to Angie’s past.
