TV.com's Swell-o-vision vs. Hell-o-vision (April 30)

By TV.com Staff

Apr 30, 2010

Here's what we thought was out of sight and just not right on TV this week.

Swell:

... This week's edition of SNL Weekend Update
Gabourey Sidibe wasn’t that great of a host, but Weekend Update (which she wasn't in) was awesome. John Mulaney’s take on the Girl Scouts was especially good.

... Southland getting renewed for Season 3
Now that the show will be completely free of its NBC-tainted past, it will really have a chance for greatness.

... This fake trailer for George Costanza: The movie
Just watch.

... Jenna making out with herself on 30 Rock
First, you must love yourself.

... Siobhan Magnus getting eliminated on American Idol
No more screechy-screechy!

Hell:

... No new episode Lost
Oh man, what are we gonna do when it's over for good?

... The news that Steve Carell will probably leave The Office after next season
Can the show really go on without him? It better not even try.

... The premiere of Sunset Daze
We're still not sure what to make of this retirement community reality show.

... The cancellation of 10 Things I Hate About You
RIP.

... Siobhan Magnus getting eliminated on American Idol
It was like watching Ally Sheedy getting kicked out of the Breakfast Club.

What did you love or hate on TV this week?

Seinfield video is... so weird and boring.

Vampire Diaries had so many unexpected things in this ep. They do have great writers and I love shows that surprise me. Their flashbacks are awesome.

No new episode of Lost is indeed bad

I'll miss 10 Things. It and Better Off Ted were two of the funniest shows, SCREW YOU ABC! The only other ABC Family show that's somewhat worthwhile is Make It Or Break it. that one about the stupid pregnant teenager is crap (I refuse to call it by anything but). Steve Carell leaving The Office means The Office leaves renewal. the show will die without him, while Michael Scott does get a little annoying sometimes, it can't last without him. even though the show hasn't been nearly as funny the past two seasons. WHAT HAPPENED TO "THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID"?!?! I wondered what happened to John Mulaney after VH1 royally screwed Best Week Ever by making it a one person host show, nice to see he went to SNL.. even though SNL isn't funny anymore

George made Seinfeld, but that trailer was not highlighting the funny at all. George = Larry David. Come on!

I hated that several of my shows didn't have new episodes.

I loved the moment in Party Down when Ron tried to get back at Henry by having fake sex with Lydia. Also when Henry fake yelled at Ron. I'm not doing the moments justice explaining them but they were gooooood.

Whether they make a movie or show for Jason Alexander / George Costanza, I can't imagine anyone ever wanting to watch him. He is so unfunny and I've watched a few episodes (only a few) 'cos I could never stand him or Jerry Seinfeld (he is just not funny either). So, that would be a no-go for me. Nobody bu Kramer of the whole group was funny.

The cast of American Idiot on Letterman was fantastic!

Watching that Costanza commercial makes me realize how much I miss Seinfeld, one of the best shows of the 90's.
