TV.com's Swell-o-vision vs. Hell-o-vision (March 11)

Here's what was out of sight and just not right on TV this week.

Swell

...House's "Bombshells"
This episode pulled out all the stops: With five crazy dream sequences (including one inspired by Butch Cassidy, another by Two and Half Men, and one that involved zombies!) and the breakup, it did not fail to entertain.

... The Southland finale
A solid finale for a solid season. We were particularly moved by this scene between Sammy and Nate's killer.

... Bob's Burgers's "Sheesh! Cab Bob"
This was possibly the funniest episode yet, especially with the casting of 30 Rock's Jack McBrayer in a breakout role.

... Archer's "Mandingo 2: The Enslavening"
Watching Cyril help Malory whip her screenplay—a sensual spy drama—into shape was one of the funniest things we've seen on any sitcom this season.

... Pee-wee Herman's entrance to Conan on Wednesday night
It's not every day you get to see Pee-wee on water skis.

... Jimmy's Golem impression on Raising Hope
Pretty good, right? The Brother-Husbands storyline was also funny, and hooray for Paul F. Tompkins!

... his BriTANicK sketch featuring Community's Danny Pudi
It just so happens to raise the point that there's no good reason why Pudi hasn't been nominated for an Emmy yet.

Hell

... The realization that Two and a Half Men is probably never going to get a proper series finale
Love it or hate it, Charlie Sheen has really blown it for a talented cast that deserves better.

... Adrianne Palicki's Wonder Woman hair
If the Lasso of Truth were on us right now, we'd say, "We hate it."

... These stupid Mt. Dew commercials with Erin Andrews and Kenny Mayne

... Richard Hatch on Celebrity Apprentice
Did anyone else suffer a convulsive attack of the willies every time Richard Hatch appeared on screen? We get it—he's conniving and determined to win, but does he have to act like he's been taking night classes at The Hannibal Lecter Center for Continuing Education? And today he was sentenced to another nine months in the big house—and we're not talking about Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago Estate. That's right: Richard will be locked up come the season finale. Which is probably the best thing for everyone involved.

What made your list of loves and hates this week?

If Charlie Sheen 's road shows can sell out in 18 minutes what does that say for the people who bought the tickets? He has become a real "pain in the derriere". Don't end the show, how about bringing in an older, illegitimate brother (seeing how the mom is such a loosey goosey, that could probably work since Charlie has left for Paris & the auditorium.
As for "House" well, "Blaah, blaah, blaah". How come they keep this one going & put others, which are (more realistic) like Detroit 1-8-7 & the Defenders & a few others on the fence? Just my opinion!

Here's a great idea for continuing "men". Hire Mel Gibson as Charlie's replaceent.. a perfect fit!

I had no idea that Richard Hatch was going to be on Celebrity Apprentice, but yes, he does give me the creeps just the same. He should never be allowed to smile ever again. Thursday's episode of CSI was interesting. But MORE interesting was last Sunday's episode of CSI: Miami about a popular girl who is stoned to death with rocks. It was a very relatable story, particularly for anyone who was bullied in high school.

It's Gollum, not golem. Two very different things.

When are they gonna cancel Bob's Burgers? That show is just plain terrible.

Swell-o-v: Not much this week except an exceptional HARRY'S LAW episode, the beginning of a Jean Harlow festival on TCM -- she really IS as good as her reputation -- and a knowledge that, since a lot of shows are off, I'll finally get a chance to spend some time with a newly acquired bunch of British Mystery DVDs.

Hell-o: HOUSE (which isn't jumping the shark, it's sailing over the head of the guy who's jumping it.) They have totally lost their way, and a favorite show is becoming totally unwatchable. THE EVENT's return would be hell if anybody bothered to watch it. And CM:SB continues to demonstrate how not to make a spin-off -- and if JJ and Emily were sacrificed for this mess... (non-profane words fail me.)

Wow, the look that baby gave her dad on Raising Hope is priceless.

As long as we have rip roaring funnymen like Mr. Schu from Glee, other mediocre funny men will not get the due!!!!
And the same holds for Nurse Jackie, this show is side splitting funny and she always deserves to be nominated as she is just a riot on this show!!!
