Warehouse 13 Looking Good for Renewal

By Tim Surette

Aug 03, 2011

... In the no-duh news department, Syfy is going to renew its number-one show Warehouse 13 for a fourth season (formal announcement coming soon). The slick mix of sci-fi, comedy, romance, and steampunk has been a major hit for the network since it debuted a few years back. [Deadline Hollywood]

... Fans of USA Network's Suits and Necessary Roughness should rest easy. Well easy enough for someone who can live with the fact that they like Suits or Necessary Roughness. Just kidding! It was someone else who said those shows suck, not me! I know he looked like me and sounded just like me, but trust me, it wasn't me. Oh, on to the news part. The network's co-presidents said they'll both probably get renewed. [EW]

... **You are now humming the Game of Thrones theme song in your head** HBO's Game of Thrones has made another casting decision, bringing on British actress Gemma Whelan to play Theon Greyjoy's sister. In the books, she's named Asha, but producers think that name is too similar to wildling woman Osha, so they're changing her name to Yara, which is way unsexier and sounds like a budget automobile from Eastern Europe. Way to ruin my day, Game of Thrones producers. [EW]

... Summer Glau Summer Glau Summer Glau! The World Record holder for most nerdy stalkers will guest star on Syfy's Alphas, playing an Alpha with the superpower of getting shows canceled. She'll appear in the August 22 episode. Also dropping by Alphas will be Lindsay Wager, Garret Dillahunt, Brent Spiner, Alaina Huffman, Rebecca Mader, and Peter Wingfield. [Syfy via press release]

... Justin Bruening, who once starred in a show about a man and a talking car, will guest star in the CW's Ringer. Hunky Bruening will play a hunky suitor of hunky Sarah Michelle Gellar's Siobhan (she's the evil twin!) in the hunky, twisty thriller. [TV Line]

... Everyone loves John Corbett! Especially Parenthood! Corbett returns to the NBC drama to woo Lauren Graham's Sarah just as her new flame Mark also returns. You know what that means! Threesome! Or fistfight. Or both. [TV Line]

... Sony Pictures TV is dusting off an old project named Dead Lawyers, which is also the punchline to "What's the only good kind of lawyer?" The potential series, which was pitched around to networks eight years ago, is about a defense attorney who dies and goes to Hell: a law firm with other deceased jerk lawyers that helps right wrongs in the justice system to find redemption. Justified creator Graham Yost is on board to write and produce. [Deadline Hollywood]

... Bravo has renewed The Real Housewives of Orange County, Top Chef Masters, and Million Dollar Listing LA, and picked up three other shows that I'll never watch. [Deadline Hollywood]

    You are!

  • robertmitchum78 Aug 06, 2011

On what bases exactly can M. Tim Surette's claim Summer Glau is "The World Record holder for most nerdy stalkers"?

Does SG fans/stalkers have the world record for the most numerous assassination attempts on a President of The United States ? (side note to the younger audience : John Hinckley reference, Google it).

Is there a blog where they posts pictures of the altar they have erected in the honor of Summer Glau? Can you provide a link?

  • robertmitchum78 Aug 06, 2011

And how exactly do you measure the level of "stalkiness"? More than 3 posters of SG in a room? In this case Justin Bieber or Robert Pattinson should be scared for life.

Or how much fake nude pics you can find? Some people tweets links but i don't recall there is more than for other actresses. I have also read fanfiction where Cameron from TSCC has sex with John Connor, or femslash where Cameron has sex with Sarah Connor; i'm sure there's much more fetish examples but nothing that an adult couln't endure.

KyleEggers, one of his co-workers tried to defend M. Tim Surette and gave an explanation that i quote here :

"Take the comment he said, break it down line by line and slam dunk it in my face what bad journalism means and how he insulted the fans, other then the ones that "stalk" her. Then run over to google and type in "Summer Glau ***ing with a horse" and tell me she doesn't have some creepy stalker fans.

"The World Record holder for most nerdy stalkers" - Let's break down this line, shall we.... He never said the word fan in that line, he wrote that she has a lot of nerdy stalkers. Check the internet kid, she does..... So do a lot of actresses, nerdy stalker kids plague the internet and real life. He never quoted the group of fans as a whole, or even a demographic of fans. He blasted the nerdy stalkers."

  • robertmitchum78 Aug 06, 2011

You'll notice that the notion of "world record holder" completely disappeared; instead he tells us Summer Glau has stalker fans. Thanks for the enlightning news!

Then he says Summer has stalkers fans JUST LIKE a lot of actresses. Thanks for aknowledging this.

He admits himself that M. Tim Surettes inflammatory words ""The WORLD RECORD holder for MOST nerdy stalkers" have zero basis.

This is what i'm demonstrating against in the comment section : i'm not disputing the fact that Summer Glau has stalker fans but the adjective used to describe them.

I have also typed the Google query he suggested : the fact that it points to 4chan /tv/ section (the thread has been deleted by mods) is very revealing imo.

  • robertmitchum78 Aug 06, 2011

And now i will tell you what i think : M. Tim Surette inspiration is 4chan/tv/ where trolling and being incredibly harsh and trying to make others feel like idiots

is the rule. But the problem is these rules should not apply on a site like tv.com unless tv.com and CBS wants to be associated with the garbage that 4chan is most of the time.

When it's directed at someone as sweet and sensitive as Summer it completely stops being funny and is just plain mean; same goes for the glaufags (that's how fans of Summer Glau fans are called on 4chan).

  • robertmitchum78 Aug 06, 2011

I guess people who are incredibly cynical by nature have a hard time liking anyone that admires someone so much for her lack of cynisism and sweetness ... qualities which can be looked at as weakness.

I may be a Glaufag but i'm not the kind you can insult just make a funny line, i hope you have understood it by now.

  • FermiEnrico Aug 06, 2011

Exactly it is very unprofessional of Tim to use flametory argument taken from internet troll on his articles. It is obvious that this is just to attract readers and to get more comments.

I ignore people talking about the Summer Glau curses. Because any grown up should know that there are no such thing as curses and I don't really understand how wrongfully calling an actress a show killer is considered funny. It is just lame trolling and one should not feed trolls.

robertmitchum78 if you disagree with an article it is enough leaving just one or two comments explaining your opinion. If you spam the comment sections with hundreds of comments. People will just ignore you and thinking you are a crazybot and you accomplish nothing by doing this.

  • robertmitchum78 Aug 06, 2011

You're the voice of reason sir and i should certainly follow your good advice.

But i'm not in a reasonable mood these days, more in a get-back-at-M.-Tim-Surette-for-what-he-wrote mood.

Besides i'm just doing what he asks for in his twitter profile :

"I watch TV, write stories about them for TV.com, then read all the angry comments from users."

He should add : "then watch how i lost the few credibility i had before"

  • robertmitchum78 Aug 05, 2011

One day, you will have to explain what connections exactly you have with 4chan M Tim Surette.

Im sure tv.com readers would be very interested to know more.

  • robertmitchum78 Aug 05, 2011

"Don't feed the troll" as they say. But i'm not a troll just a fan angry at seing how dispecrectful M. Tim Surette is towards Summer Glau and her fans. Funny thing is that M Tim Surette stopped tweeting for one day (Tim Surette@TimAtTVDotCom) and started again today, thinking the hullabaloo is over. Wrong.

Tv.com members, by trying to cover her fellow are not only in solidarity the're obviously accomplice and supportive of M. Tim Surette insulting Summer Glau and her fans.
