Watch the First Episode of Matthew Perry's Go On Now (VIDEO)

The 2012 Fall Television Season officially unofficially began last night when NBC sneak-peeked its new comedy Go On to go with its coverage of the Olympic Games from jolly ole Engle-land. If you missed it, don't worry! You're not totally boned! NBC has released the pilot online and we've embedded it below so you don't have to go anywhere to watch it.

Go On stars Matthew Perry (Ben Donovan Chandler's back!) as a sports radio chatterbox that is forced into group therapy after his wife suddenly dies. There he meets a wacky group of characters all dealing with their own loss. It's actually pretty good, and is unique in that it couples comedy with some touchy-feeliness for a rollercoaster of emotions. Plus it has Brett Gelman (Eagleheart) playing a weirdo, which is always funny.

What did you think? Can Matthew Perry carry a sitcom? Is it too touching for your taste? Is there humor in loss?

Go On officially premieres September 11 at 9pm.

Loved it! As one who has experienced the loss of 7 close family members, this is cathartic! I think humor is one of the best ways to approach the subject and making a fun game of it...can lighten it up, and actually aid in peoples healing! Look forward to more! (Looking and acting great Matthew!)

Never was into 'Friends', or any of the other actors later tv shows, but I really liked this pilot. It's a keeper.

I surprisingly loved it! I finally just got around to watching and it was totally worth my time. My only disappointment was that it's not an hour long.. I was expecting a full hour, boo! But I'm definitely gonna keep watching!

I really liked it, except maybe for the final scene which was a little bit too cheesy for my taste... Also I didn't fall in love with episodes or cougar town just right after the pilot either, but eventually fell in love with both shows, I will definitely give it a few more episodes before I make a final decision :) I mean this show has my favourite friend in it!

I really liked this pilot. I thought I would, after watching the trailer, but it was still nice to be actually enjoying a pilot nowadays.

It was refreshing and funny. I hope they can keep up the same balance of light and dark throughout.

Kinda liked it. Chandler's getting on in years though.... only reminds that I too am getting older. boohoo... Problem with Perry however, is that you'll always be linking him to Chandler (as I just did), and that's to bad.

I like the group therapy characters, but it depends on further writing. A lot of it has been done before, so we'll see. I liked the competition though, reminded me of a certain fast quiz about which roommates knew the other roommates best and it also involved Perry...
